    Assistant Head Teacher (Nursery & Primary School)

    • Our vibrant and forward-thinking Primary School located at Surulere is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Head Teacher to join our leadership team. The Assistant Head Teacher will play a key role in supporting the Head Teacher in the strategic development and day-to-day management of the school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced 21st century educator (EYFS) who is passionate about providing high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment for students

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the Head Teacher in the overall management and leadership of the school, including administration, implementing school policies and procedures and liaising with parents.
    • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies that promote academic excellence and student engagement.
    • Lead and manage specific areas of school development, such as curriculum design, assessment, or pastoral care, as assigned by the Head Teacher.
    • Provide effective guidance and support to teaching staff, including mentoring and coaching, to promote professional growth and development.
    • Contribute to the recruitment, induction, and performance management of staff, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained.
    • Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of pupil progress and attainment, using data to inform interventions and drive improvement.
    • Foster positive relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community to promote parental engagement and support student well-being.
    • Contribute to the effective management of resources, planning school’s events, budgeting and purchasing of items required in the school.
    • Assist in the preparation and presentation of reports to the director, senior leadership, and external stakeholders as required.
    • Undertake any other duties as directed by the Head Teacher to support the effective operation of the school.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor in Education, PGDE, B.Sc. and relevant teaching experience in a primary school setting.
    • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of effectively leading and managing teams.
    • Strong understanding of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), primary education curriculum, assessment frameworks, and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders.
    • Sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare and well-being of all students.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to drive school improvement.
    • Relevant postgraduate qualification in education leadership or management (desirable).
