    Finance & Administration Officer

    Summary
    Concern Universal is an international development organisation that works through local partners to tackle poverty and has been registered in Nigeria since 2001. This role will contribute to the sound financial management of the Rural Sanitation & Hygiene Promotion in Nigeria (RUSHPIN) project, through management of budgets, daily office administration, and support to project staff and partners. The post is based in our head office in Calabar, with regular travel to other project LGAs in Cross River State.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Verify monthly expenditures and bank reconciliations;
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts and float requests;
    • Liaise with auditors and provide requested information
    • Conduct regular visits to field offices in Abi, Obanliku & Bekwarra LGAs to support partner staff to maintain and improve established finance and admin systems
    • Serve as main contact point for financial queries from project partners;
    • Identify capacity gaps and training needs;
    • Liaise with Finance staff in other offices 

    Person Specification
    Required/Desirable

    • BSc or BA in relevant field Relevant Post-graduate qualification (Accounting/Finance/Management)
    • At least one years’ experience working in a finance or accounts department
    • Experience in the finance department of an International NGO
    • Strong working knowledge of computers and IT (Word, Excel etc.)
    • Working knowledge of database management or accounting software
    • Experience of training others in financial systems
    • Experience in office management (Admin/HR/Systems/Procurement)
    • Excellent attention to detail & time-management
    • Strong communication & problem solving skills
