    Mechanical Engineer

    REPORTING TO: Manager

    JOB LEVEL: Supervisor

    JOB TYPE; full time

    LOCATION: Ewekoro, Ogun state.

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The purpose of this job is to oversee and coordinate the timely repair and maintenance of construction and mining equipment.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY: Job involves:

    • General maintenance.
    • Checking, repairing and servicing of construction and mining equipment.
    • Systems and infrastructures servicing and repairs.
    • Coordinating and working with other technical staff whose jobs are related.
    • Undertake scheduled and breakdown maintenance of engineering equipment.
    • Contribute to planning and delivery scheduled maintenance
    • Responding to breakdowns with stipulated SLAs (service level agreement) maintaining the time given.
    • Diagnosing faults
    • Obtaining specialist components, fixtures or fittings
    • Maintaining statistical and financial records
    • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
    • Contributes to creating maintenance procedures
    • Managing stocks of supplies and equipment.

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • B.Eng. (minimum of second-class lower result) in Mechanical engineering
    • A masters in same field will be an added advantage.

     

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    A minimum of 5 years’ work experience.

    SKILLS CRITICAL TO THE ROLE:

    • Ability to work well under pressure
    • Experience in the maintenance of Caterpillar, Volvo trucks and construction equipment including wheel loaders, Excavators and others.
    • High Level of discretion.
    • Use of Heavy Equipment information systems software
    • Analytical Skill
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Relevant technical knowledge
    • Problem-solving skills
    • Efficiency and organization
    • Team work
