    Maternity Cover for Sector Capacity and Support Manager

    Details:

    The WANG Programs Department drives the implementation of the Country Strategy and is currently implementing two donor funded projects (HSBC-SWADS and EU CSO capacity development for WASH Governance) and three WaterAid funded projects (SanMark Expansion and Scaleup, National Advocacy and Technical Support Project and Innovation Fund).
    The Sector Support & Capacity Building manager plays and integral part in the implementation of these projects. Specifically, the role drives the CP’s capacity building, coordination and delivery of sector strengthening initiatives. In view of the team matrix system for project implementation, the sector capacity and support manager manages the 300,000 Euros EU CSO capacity development project which is implemented in Plateau state. This is in addition to managing the N13m Diageo funded water delivery project in Kebbi state and leading the Water Quality initiatives of the CP.
    This ToRs is part of the requirement for finding cover for this position holder who proceeds on maternity leave from September 2018 to February 2019.

    The cover will be responsible for the following key deliverables:

    • The overall implementation (programmatic and financial) of the EU technical assistance to CSO project, donor reporting (programmatic and financial), and for leading on mechanisms for continuous learning and collaboration amongst all key stakeholders.
    • Oversee the project management of the EU technical assistance project and ensure key deliverables are met in line with agreed timelines and milestones
    • Manage the sector strengthening initiatives/capacity building sessions of the CP current projects (SWADS, SES, NATSPRO)
    • Develop capacity building methodologies and follow up arrangements to ensure partners’ capacities are strengthened.
    • Work with the coordinator policy and sector support in providing technical support to the Water Quality Task Working Group.
    • Documentation of learning experiences

    Key requirments/Person specifications

    • Experience in WaterAid programmatic approaches particularly sector strengthening for sustainability
    • Demonstrable understanding of sector development in Nigeria and how change happens
    • Experience with facilitating adult learning interventions and with using adult learning techniques and tools
    • Experience in the use of capacity assessment tools
    • Strong analytical and research skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly and persuasively
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
    • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders including colleagues, high levels decision and government officials to support delivery of goals
