    Volunteer Strategy Development & Partnerships

    Job Description

    The Volunteer will be in charge of: (1) Determining and clarifying strategic and operational problems (2) Identifying problems and seeking solutions reviewing current strategy (3) Undertaking research into the industry sector, markets and competitors (4) Collecting, analysing and interpreting data and statistics (5) Compiling and presenting information verbally, visually and in writing (6) Identifying and assessing the pros and cons of possible strategies outlining objectives (7) Developing, advising about and implementing agreed solutions (8) Identifying strategic partnerships for Afterschool Project

    Volunteer Logistics:
    Estimated hours required per week: 30 hours per week
    The estimated duration of the project is: 6-12 months
    This position is On-site in Calabar Nigeria or Virtual
    The office can provide amenities to volunteers such as: Internet, Office space

    Desired Skills and Experience
    A blend of talents and skills is required of successful Senior Consultant candidates, including intellectual ability, strong analytic skills, imagination and creativity, judgment and maturity, curiosity, interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment, high energy level, professional integrity, and demonstrated leadership.

    The candidate will typically have:

    • Excellent undergraduate degree from a top tier university
    • 3 to 6 months of experience with industry or functional work
    • Business-level fluency in English language
    • International experience acquired through internships or study abroad
    • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Effectiveness in the use of computer tools, e.g., spreadsheets and databases
    • Transferable skills and experience from previous strategic roles will be required

    Job Description

    W.TEC would like to redesign our current website - http://www.w-teconline.org - which was redesigned in 2013. This website was built in Wordpress and has enabled multiple members of our team to update different sections from various locations. We like this convenience and flexibility, however we would like to update the look of the site. We toyed with the idea of building the new website ourselves, however as the organisation has grown, so has our workload. Therefore, we decided that it is most expedient to have a non-employee work on it. ------REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SITE ------ The important features that we need are: (1) CMS: The website be CMS-based so that it is easy to update (2) Integrated with our social media channels (Facebook, Blog, Twitter & YouTube profiles) (3) Sign-up for Newsletter: Option to do so directly on the website (4) Donate Feature (5) Photo Gallery (6) Search feature (7) Infographics representing data and our programme findings

    Desired Skills and Experience
    OUR EXPECTATIONS: We expect that anyone who would like to work on this project:

    • Can devote some hours each week (5 at a minimum) to working on the website
    • Is proficient in building websites using a CMS
    • Is knowledgeable of the latest website standards for accessibility and usability
    • Can create and edit the graphics needed for the website
    • Can edit the photos we have for use on the site
    • Can commit to having the website ready by the end of November 2014
