    Lead, Housekeeper

    Job Description

    • Our client is seeking a Lead Housekeeper who will be responsible for the company’s general cleanliness, to provide tidy and sanitary amenities to guests, patients, and staff of the hospital.
    • The Lead Housekeeper will also be responsible for reporting maintenance deficiencies, supporting organizational goals by ensuring that high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness are maintained throughout, and help supervise the housekeeping department to maintain hygienic standards and safety.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the daily activities of the housekeeping team to ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness in all offices, seating areas, sleeping cabins, and public spaces.
    • Plan, organize, and direct team members to ensure daily cleaning of assigned tasks (rooms/cabins, bathrooms, corridor areas, and public areas).
    • Follow/lead the schedule of tasks to be completed daily due to hospital needs.
    • Continuously seek and improve the overall housekeeping functions of the hospital.
    • Maintain the housekeeping budget, providing billing summaries and expenses.
    • Ensures proper maintenance of equipment, supply levels, housekeeping vehicle, etc., and makes arrangements for repair and/or replacement of used or damaged equipment.
    • Serve as overall quality control for housekeeping functions, housekeeping staff, and volunteers that may perform housekeeping functions.
    • Ensure all staff and volunteers performing housekeeping functions are properly trained in technique, quality, efficiency, and safety.
    • Work and communicate professionally, assisting to develop team spirit and to achieve work standards.
    • Attend staff training sessions and meetings as needed.
    • Determine and maintain the department work schedule and ensure they are properly done.
    • Ensure policies and standard operating procedures are followed consistently.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3 years in a management housekeeping position.
    • Proven housekeeping or hospitality experience.
    • Experience working in a hospital is an advantage.
    • Good customer service and organizational skills.
    • Desire and willingness to work independently, and as a team within housekeeping and other departments.
    • Excellent organizational and team management skills.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products, and safely handle cleaning chemicals.
