    Finance Lead

    Role Summary:

    • The role of a Finance Lead at Lipton Teas and Infusions in Nigeria is crucial in overseeing the financial operations and strategy of the company.
    • The Finance Lead is responsible for managing financial reporting, creating financial statements, analysing financial data, overseeing accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • They play a key role in providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making, driving efficiency and profitability within the organization. Additionally, the Finance Lead works closely with senior management to develop and implement financial policies and procedures Controller that align with the company's goals and objectives.
    • Overall, the Finance lead at Lipton Teas and Infusions in Nigeria plays a vital role in maintaining financial stability and driving sustainable growth for the business.

    Your Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
    • Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying trends and variances for management review.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

    Budgeting and Forecasting: 

    • Coordinate the annual budgeting process, working closely with stakeholders to develop realistic financial targets.
    • Review financial forecasts and analyse budget vs. actual performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
    • Provide budget guidance and support to other departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

    Compliance and Internal Controls:

    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal control procedures.
    • Review and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and mitigate financial risks.
    • Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
    • Review and ensure robust policies around treasury, foreign exchange exposure and cash flow management

    Team Leadership and Development:

    • Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Set performance objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and support professional development.
    • Collaborate with HR for talent acquisition and succession planning within the finance department.
    •  Perform any other duties as may assigned by Head of Finance 

    Skills and Experience:

    • Finance Degree, ACA or MBA highly valued.
    • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in FMCG industry
    • Excellent IFRS accounting/reporting skills accompanied by strong analytical skills
    • Strong understanding of implementing global accounting policy controls framework
    • Strong fundamental business technical skills (including Excel and PowerPoint) and software applications (i.e., S4Hana)
    • Strong financial and business acumen
    • Experience in commercial finance within CPG or similar industry

    Brand Manager (West Africa Region)

    Role Purpose Description

    • Main job purpose is to drive the profitable, penetration led growth agenda within the Tea business, in line with Laws of Growth Principles.
    • As the Brand Manager for Lipton Tea and Infusions in the West Africa region, your role is crucial in developing and executing marketing strategies to drive brand awareness and growth.
    • You will be responsible for overseeing product development, pricing, and promotional activities to ensure the brand's success in the market.
    • Your creativity and strategic thinking will be key in building strong brand equity and driving sales in the dynamic and competitive tea market of West Africa.

    Job Scope & Key Responsibilities

    Job Scope 

    • Turning data into insights and actions
    • Leading Projects & Activity Requests
    • Crafting Strong distinctive Brands
    • Landing integrated brand plans in-year with the cross functional team
    • Landing brand operations.
    • Effectively managing the Brand’s budget, to achieve zero BMI forecast bias, on a monthly basis.
    • Managing media, landing KPIs

    Main Responsibilities:

    Brand Planning 

    • Develop strategic Brand Plans including but not limited to: 
    • Issue and opportunity analysis
    • Crafting the plans and delivering opportunities.

    Project leadership: 

    • Lead certain Activity Requests / Projects
    • Leading Project Team meetings with relevant teams within the project team.
    • Developing Inspiring, relevant communication and integrated brand plans
    • Data Reporting and Data into Action: 
    • Brand financials, quarterly share deep dives & commentary, and action plans.
    • Sales & Operations Planning preparation: using available data to make recommendations at a SKU level feeding into S&OP Meetings
    • In market Activation: Develop shopper facing activities with Shopper marketing team, Develop and lead consumer facing activations.

    Budget Management: 

    • Monthly budget phasing, tracking and management.
    • Developing and leading brand lead digital activities aligned to the category and digital strategy.
    • Reconciling and managing media budgeting and planning to achieve media objectives, support the brand and category media strategy.
    • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Africa Marketing Director and Nigeria Leadership team

    Skills and Experience Needed

    • Minimum 5 year of relevant work experience.
    • Strong numerical bias.
    • Demonstrable P&L understanding.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including (but not limited to) Excel, Word, Power-point, OneDrive, Power BI, Teams.

    • GM and Nigeria Leadership team
    • Africa Marketing Director and team
    • Global Brand teams
    • Cross functional Customer Development, CMC, Supply Chain, Agencies, R&I and Factory Team.
    • Finance Business Partners & Global/ Regional teams where relevant
