    Senior Compliance Officer

    Responsibilities:

    • Conducting research on industry-specific compliance regulations and policies.
    • Developing new compliance policies and procedures as required.
    • Analyzing and updating existing compliance policies and related documentation.
    • Communicating compliance policies and guidelines to clients/ Management and designated Departments.
    • Ensuring proper registration/ incorporation of new businesses/ companies with the appropriate regulatory bodies.
    • Applying for compliance certification and regulatory approval.
    • Developing and maintaining a compliance record-keeping system.
    • Ensuring proper filing and documentation of information.
    • Organizing training for members of staff on industry-specific compliance requirements.
    • Maintaining communication with compliance regulators and following up on applications.
    • Keeping up with compliance requirements, amendments to regulations, and advising clients on regulatory and industry changes.

    Qualifications: 

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, must have been called to the Nigerian Bar, and must have completed the NYSC program.
    • 5 years experience in a Compliance role.
    • Good knowledge of Nigerian Laws and how to apply them. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Perform legal and secretarial duties.
    • Perform Quality Control reviews on engagements.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Excellent research skills.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Good team player.
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
    • Highly conscious of legal and ethical conduct.
