    Production Manager

    Job Summary:

    • As a Production Manager at African Things, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the production process and ensuring the smooth flow of products from producers to our stores and clients.
    • Your primary responsibilities will include managing inventory, coordinating with producers, ensuring quality control, arranging deliveries, documenting product movement, and handling financial transactions with producers.
    • Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders will be essential to succeed in this role.

    Responsibilities:

    • Obtain updated cost information for products from producers and maintain accurate records.
    • Manage stock quantities at our stores, ensuring optimal inventory levels are maintained.
    • Coordinate and arrange production of products with producers, considering delivery times and production schedules.
    • Prepare products for transportation to stores and fair events, ensuring proper packaging and handling procedures are followed.
    • Ensure strict adherence to quality control measures to maintain the high standards of our products.
    • Coordinate with delivery agents to arrange timely and efficient delivery of products to stores or clients.
    • Utilize Zoho inventory software to document every product delivered to stores or clients accurately.
    • Facilitate the payment process by arranging balance payments for producers in a timely manner.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in production management or a similar role, preferably in the retail industry.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with producers and delivery agents.
    • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality control and accuracy.
    • Proficiency in using inventory management software, preferably Zoho inventory software.
    • Knowledge of African culture and familiarity with African products is desirable.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
