    Financial Auditor

    Job Overview:

    • A post-acquisition audits involving reviewing and evaluating the financial, operational, and strategic aspects of the utilities companies post-acquisition.
    • Overall, the post-acquisition audits help the acquiring company to evaluate the performance and potential of the acquired company, identify any issues or risks, and develop strategies to maximize the value of the acquisition.
    • It also assists in identifying integration challenges and opportunities for synergy, ensuring a smooth transition, and realizing the expected benefits of the acquisition.

    Job Summary:

    • This involves examining the financial statements, accounting records, and financial controls of the acquired company to assess its financial health and accuracy. It includes analyzing revenues, costs, assets, liabilities, and cash flows to identify any irregularities or discrepancies.

    Responsibilities

    • Assessing risks and internal controls by identifying areas of non-compliance; evaluating manual and automated financial processes; identifying process weaknesses and inefficiencies and operational issues.
    • Verifies assets and liabilities by comparing and analyzing items and collateral to documentation.
    • Complete audit work papers and memoranda by documenting audit tests and findings.
    • Provides financial control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
    • Conducts assigned audit engagements successfully from beginning to end
    • Identifies and communicates issues raised, offering recommended solutions relevant to business and risk.
    • Ensure audit conclusions are based on a complete understanding of the process, circumstances, and risk
    • Develops audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives.
    • Ensures adherence at all times to all applicable department and professional standards.
    • Obtains and reviews evidence ensuring audit conclusions are well documented.

    Requirements:

    • Education: A good first degree and professional qualification, ACA, ACCA. Master degrees or certifications are a plus.
    • Experience: a. previous audits experience minimum of 15 years’ experience in a reputable audit firm.
    • Skills: a. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. b. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. c. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
