    Chief Security Officer (CSO)

    About The Role

    • This is a full-time on-site role for a Chief Security Officer located in Lagos.
    • The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for the maintenance and management of all safety and security measures for the company.
    • This will include the implementation of security policies and procedures, regular assessments of potential risks, and monitoring of security operations.
    • The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for supervising security teams and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as needed.

    Job Description

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive security framework to protect the company's assets and infrastructure.
    • Design and implement security policies, procedures and protocols to mitigate risks and maintain a secure environment.
    • Investigate and monitor incidents which includes conducting investigations, looking into root cause analysis and develop corrective actions.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess risks, identify vulnerabilities and devise preventive measures.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies and industry associations.
    • Lead security awareness programs and training initiatives to educate employees about best practices and potential threats.

    Tasks

    • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in and around the warehouse and ensure remedial health is in compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Preside as the head of the security team over all remedial health warehouses and the Head Quarter.
    • Work alongside the IT support to implement and manage security technologies.
    • Monitor security systems and networks for potential threats as well as oversee the management of physical security measures. These include access controls, CCTV systems, and security personnel.
    • Promptly investigating and mitigating every security incidence that is reported.
    • Develop and maintain incidence reports, response plans and ensuring timely and effective responses to security breaches.
    • Manage records, documentation and reporting to demonstrate compliance and facilitate audits.
    • Stay updated with the latest security trends, technologies and regulatory changes, ensuring continuous improvement of the security function.
    • Develop and maintain relationship with local police divisions within Lagos and other states in Nigeria.
    • Ensure the organisation is compliant with applicable security-related laws, regulations and standards in Nigeria.

    Skills & Qualifications

    • A bachelor's degree
    • 7+ years of experience in a senior security management role, with a demonstrable track record of developing and implementing security strategies and frameworks.
    • Experience in assessing and responding to potential security risks, conducting security audits, and managing incidence response processes.
    • 3 years experience working in the capacity of a CSO in FMCG supply chain sector, or in a warehouse.
    • Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
    • Solid leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
    • Analytical, problem-solving skills to assess risks, analyse complex security issues and develop appropriate solutions.
    • Excellent knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to infrastructure security in an organisation is an added advantage
