    Area Manager (Grocery Retail Chain)

    Job Summary:

    • As the Area Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the stores under your supervision.
    • You will work closely with the COO to develop and implement strategic plans, improve operational efficiency, and drive business growth.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate existing operations and develop appropriate strategies.
    • Formulate fruitful business development strategies to ensure long-term success.
    • Set standards and objectives for different stores and departments.
    • Optimize and oversee operations to ensure efficiency.
    • Lead a team of store managers towards effective collaboration and attainment of goals.
    • Undertake sound financial management to ensure stores are profitable and stay within budget.
    • Ensure compliance with the company’s policies and operational guidelines.
    • Deal with problems by providing creative and practical solutions.
    • Evaluate performance using key metrics and address issues to improve it.
    • Report to senior executives on progress and issues.
    • Train store managers in effective sales and supervisory techniques.
    • Create and communicating sales targets at regular intervals.
    • Monitor sales across stores to check that quotas are met.
    • Detect, investigate, and remedy discrepancies in sales across stores, if required.
    • Collaborating with other Area Managers to ensure that operations are consistent across the board.
    • Traveling to stores to conduct your duties on-site, as needed.
    • Informing your manager of progress and pitfalls on a regular basis.
    • Assist upper management in decisions for expansion or acquisition.

    Requirements

    Key Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, retail management or a related field.
    • 6+ years experience as area manager in a retail setting or a similar environment.
    • Knowledge of performance evaluation metrics and principles.
    • Sound understanding of optimization of store operations and standards for success.
    • Working knowledge of ERP software.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
    • Strong business acumen with a strategic orientation.
    • Capacity to lead with poise and conviction.
    • Ability to devise relevant and innovative strategies.
    • Strong supervisory, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities.

    Benefits

    • Compensation: Base pay is 450k monthly (slightly negotiable) plus other interesting benefits
