About Equitable Health Access Initiative (EHAI)
EHAI is an indigenous non-governmental organisation fully committed to ensuring equitable access to quality and efficient health care services through the implementation of intervention programs in the control of communicable diseases (e.g. HIV, Malaria, Tuberculosis etc.) and non-communicable disea... read moreses of public health importance, as well as health systems support and strengthening.
We are focused on exploiting to its fullest extent, our core competence, which is our unique ability to provide high quality, equitable and affordable health care intervention programs to disparate populations in urban as well as rural, underserved and hard to reach areas. These programs include non-communicable and communicable diseases especially in HIV, Malaria and Tuberculosis prevention and control, as well as Maternal and Child Health programs. As part of our strategy in achieving our set goals and objectives, we presently provide strategic support to the Government of Nigeria at the Federal, State and LGA level. This is through technical and programmatic support for the implementation of equitably distributed quality and sustainable health intervention programs, in-service capacity building of health care workers (practical and didactic) in all areas of operation as well as support on procurement, warehousing and supply chain management of commodities and drugs according to national and international standards. We also work to ensure effective leveraging of available resources for better health outcomes, through building partnership with various government MDAs, CBOs as well as bilateral and multilateral local and international partners. We strongly support community system strengthening through community based participation through all stages of our project cycle. The organization is also involved in basic and operational scientific research to increase the body of knowledge as well as address key questions targeted at improving health outcomes and providing innovative, cost efficient interventions and technologies.
Where do we work?
With our corporate head office in Lagos state, and a state office in Akure, Ondo state of Nigeria, our area of coverage is presently the Southwest region of the country. This includes Lagos, Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Ogun and Osun including Kwara states, with a special focus on hard to reach and underserved populations and communities.
