    Employee Experience Manager

    ROLE OVERVIEW 

    • Hugo is seeking a passionate, hands-on, Employee Experience Manager to champion our people-first approach and lead the development and implementation of an innovative community engagement programme.
    • In this role, you will have the opportunity to build engagement initiatives that empower our employees to be their best selves, drive performance and excellence, while fostering a culture of employee well-being.
    • As a passionate change agent with an analytical mind and an eye for details, you will be in charge of the analysis, design and execution of the end-to-end community engagement strategy, with the aim to offer a conducive work environment to our remote workforce across Africa. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    The core responsibilities of the role include:

    • Design and execute engaging programs: Develop and implement a comprehensive employee engagement strategy that aligns with the company’s mission, values and business objectives; Create and manage programs that enhance employee satisfaction, motivation and retention within the community.
    • Work culture ambassador: Encourage and reinforce Hugo’s core values, ensuring they are embedded in every aspect of the employee experience within our community.
    • Employee feedback facilitator: Be the bridge between leadership and community. Collect and analyze feedback through surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one discussions. Deep-dive on eNPS; Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and take action accordingly.
    • Recognition and rewards: Develop and manage a robust recognition and rewards program to celebrate employees’ achievements and contributions. Ensure that recognition is timely and meaningful.
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders: Support Hugo Academy Lead and the People Partnering team on relevant initiatives where community engagement is a core touchpoint.
    • Support internal communication: Work closely with the Internal communication team to keep the community informed and ensure that company policies and news are disseminated in an effective and empathetic way through the relevant channels (social media, newsletters, intranet…)
    • Wellness initiatives: Promote employee well-being through health and wellness programs. Organize activities and events that support physical and mental health.

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    • 7+ years of proven experience in employee engagement, human resources or a related role.
    • Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in employee engagement and culture development.
    • Data-driven and able to analyze metrics to drive decision-making.
    • Ability to build, maintain and enhance relationships at all levels of the organization
    • Strong leadership skills. 
    • Perfect written and oral communication skills.

    Business Operations Director

    Role Overview

    • The Business Operations Team is at the forefront of shaping global operational excellence at Hugo.
    • As a leader in this team, you will report directly to the COO, and play a critical role in the build-out, standardization, and laying the groundwork for automating key operational processes across all our lines of business and geographic sites. You will lead the charge on analyses and strategic projects that enable Hugo to scale rapidly and create impact.
    • You will work with cross-functional teams to understand opportunities for optimization, create scalable solutions, and drive implementation.
    • To succeed in this role, you must be process-obsessed, detail-oriented and analytical, able to switch between strategic and tactical, and communicate persuasively to lead change.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Process design and optimization: Map out key business processes end-to-end, identify opportunities to streamline and automate. Implement systems to enable rapid scalability and alignment with the strategic needs of the business.
    • Analyses and problem-solving: Define operational metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Creatively solve for bottlenecks and risks to day-to-day operations.
    • Project and change management: Coordinate and partner with multiple stakeholders to ensure on-time project delivery. Design and execute strategy and communications to maximize adoption.
    • Performance and compliance tracking: Outline success requirements, monitor progress, and build scorecards for new projects. Audit process adherence and escalate issues.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in STEM
    • Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience in 
    • A top-tier management consulting firm (with projects in operations / implementation)
    • Product operations in Big Tech / large startups
    • Process design and PM in a Fortune 500
    • Exposure to design-thinking, process-mapping, and deriving actionable insights from data/findings
    • Track record of ruthless prioritization, multitasking, implementing systems and managing change
    • Excellent structured communication skills

    An advantage to have:

    People Partner, AI Operations

    ROLE OVERVIEW 

    • Hugo is seeking a strong strategic People partner for the leadership of a 1000+ AI operations team.
    • You will integrate HR practices with business objectives, provide strategic guidance, and contribute to the overall success of the organization by optimizing the performance and well-being of its workforce.
    • You will consult with leadership and program leads to align HR practices with business goals to support the organization’s success. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    Strategy and AdvisoryStrategy and advisory

    • Collaborate with leadership to understand business and department objectives and align HR strategies accordingly.
    • Identity People operations gaps and conceptualize appropriate programs to address the gaps.
    • Continuously offer thought leadership regarding organizational and people-related strategy and execution.

    HR Operations Support

    • Streamline processes to receive, respond to, and resolve routine employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, and other related matters.
    • Contribute to maintaining and utilizing HR information systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date employee records.

    Talent Management

    • Partner with recruitment, training, and program leads to create and implement robust onboarding programs for all roles.
    • Provide guidance and input on departmental restructures and workforce planning.
    • Partner with leadership to design career paths and internal promotion frameworks.
    • Create a succession planning strategy to enable efficient and effective business operations continuity.
    • Implement HRM interventions on diversity and inclusion.

    Employee Relations

    • Work together with management and personnel to solve conflicts and help facilitate positive employee relations, maintain a good working environment, and build morale.
    • Ensure that information about organizational changes, policies, and other relevant matters is effectively communicated to all employees.

    Performance Management

    • Contribute to the design and implementation of performance management systems to evaluate and enhance employee performance.
    • Educate, coach, and partner with managers on performance management and employee development goals.
    • Implement reward and recognition interventions to increase bottom-line results and employee engagement
    • Identify training needs for teams and individuals.

    Policy and Compliance

    • Participate in the creation and implementation of HR policies to govern People operations processes.
    • Ensure that HR practices comply with relevant client contracts, labor laws, regulations, and Hugo values.
    • Participate in the design and review of compensation and benefits programs to align with client contract obligations and Hugo’s organization compensation framework.

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field; a Postgraduate qualification in Human resources/People Management/People Development is also desirable.
    • Minimum of 7 years experience in HR/People Operations.
    • Proven work experience as an HR business partner.
    • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Critical thinker with success in developing innovative solutions to business issues.  
    • Ability to stylistically adapt communication based on audience.
    • Demonstrable experience with HR metrics.
    • In touch with global HR trends.
    • Multicultural and ability to collaborate with persons from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds
    • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
