    Business Development Manager

    Job Description

    • To source and build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market trends, issues and conditions.
    • Your success will be determined by the sourcing and contracting of new business, and by the management of incremental growth from existing business.

    In this role you will be required to perform the following core functions:

    • Keep abreast of market developments
    • Use knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
    • Identify and research new growth areas for sales
    • Initiate clients visits when necessary and appropriate
    • Attend industry functions when required
    • Maintain key customer care objectives
    • Research and build relationships with existing clients
    • Ensuring that all sales administration is completed to a high and accurate standard and in a timely manner
    • Collate and produce sales plans and reports as required
    • Write high quality sales proposals indicating the understanding of clients’ objectives and proposing solution matching to the event
    • Assist with the operational running of the event onsite, and with the onsite rebook
    • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs

    Requirements
    To succeed in this role you would be expected to demonstrate a solid sales background, you would have:

    • A minimum of three years experience in sales background in the event management industry
    • Minimum of a First Degree
    • Proven yourself in the generation of sales & new business - track record of exceeding targets
    • The ability to convert new business in challenging markets
    • High quality sales planning & reporting to Directors
    • Tenacity and sales drive
    • A range of selling & coaching skills that have increased teams performance through development
    • Focus - be a self-starter that works on own initiative
    • Shown you can work well under pressure
    • The ability to collaborate who can also work well within teams
    • Work towards best practice and high standards
    • Ensure targets and deadlines are met across the team
    • Solid sales planning and reporting skills
    • The ability to deploy direct consultative selling (telephone and face-to-face) techniques
    • Problem solving and negotiation skills
    • Onsite sales & re-book experience
    • The ability to set clear goals and objectives for yourself and anyone around you that needed guidance
