    Quantity Surveyor

    Details:

    Typical work activities include:

    • Designing the layout of energy distribution, water pipes and ventilation systems and identifying relevant materials
    • Drawing up plans using computer-aided design and building information modelling software
    • Carrying out tests on systems and making changes to plans where necessary
    • Monitoring the installation of services and managing their maintenance once the building is completed
    • Making sure that all building services meet health and safety requirements and environmental legislation.
    • Negotiating contracts with clients, particularly in consultancy work
    • Liaising with plumbers, electricians, surveyors, architectural technologists and other construction professionals
    • Giving presentations and writing reports highlighting the practical implications of the architect’s designs
    • Promoting energy efficiency and other sustainability initiatives
    • Managing teams of people

    Put simplistically: building services engineers that work for construction consultancies tend to focus on the design of the systems; those that work for construction contractors oversee how the designs are implemented on site; and those that work for facilities management or property companies will maintain or repair the services.

    Account/Admin Officer

    Key Roles

    Finance duties:

    • Support to collate and review financial back up for liquidation of cash advances.
    • Support in payments processing, project expensing and advances management
    • Monitors vendor invoices & accounts payable;
    • Send original invoices, receipts and expense reports to the accountancy firm;
    • Communicate with accountancy firm on payment of invoices and on reimbursement of expense reports;
    • Supports in inventory management and reporting.

    Administration:

    • Support in hotel bookings, flight bookings for both AHF-Nigeria guests and staff
    • Acts as front desk officer
    • Supports procurement and supply chain management of goods and supplies to supported health facilities and the program as a whole.
    • Supervises appropriate utilization of program vehicles; responsible for scheduling of program vehicles to field activities
    • Develops and maintains filing system (mainly digital and also hardcopy when strictly needed);
    • Provides administrative and logistical support for AHF-Nigeria
    • Answers incoming phone-calls; oversee office voicemail;
    • Collects and distributes incoming mail / arrange courier services when needed;
    • Oversees office supply inventory, orders as needed;
    • Participates in the General staff meetings and other various meetings as assigned
    • Provide logistics support for trainings, meetings
    • Support in coordinating transport logistics and assigning project vehicles.
    • Maintains files of all minute of meetings.
    • Maintains and manages meeting calendar and files minute of meetings.
    • Maintains and updates contacts database.
    • Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications

    Minimum of a Bachelor degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration from a recognized college or university with 1-2 years’ experience in a field directly related to admin support, budget management, basic finance management, supplies and procurement management.

    Professional qualification is an added advantage.

    Procurement Officer

    Details:

    • The procurement officer must: continually ensure the availability of goods in their product groups;
    • Build relationships with existing suppliers and find new ones offering the desired product at competitive prices;
    • Make orders for suppliers; provide information support to other departments;
    • Compile information and bring it to the attention of management; track whether the order is completed or not;
    • Monitor the market and ensure the availability of goods that are in high demand; track sales for each product;
    • Provide the required amount of goods in stock; study the new offers of suppliers; determine the types of goods that must be withdrawn from the range or enter into it;
    • Ensure that the company always has promotional materials from suppliers;
    • Control the performance of duties towards suppliers; advise sellers, and sometimes buyers; control the movement of goods and the timing of shipment of goods;
    • Review supplier claims and resolves conflicts; control product quality.
    • Additional procurement officer responsibilities: in case of a decrease in demand for certain products,
    • Business trips for dialogue with suppliers and procurement; research of new markets;
