    Programme Advisor - Governance

    Education/Qualifications

    •     First Degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, Arts or Humanities is essential.
    •     Masters’ degree in a relevant field is essential.

    Experience

    •     At least 6 years minimum working experience is essential
    •     At least four (4) years’ experience in a similar position with particular emphasis on Election interventions in the development sector is essential.
    •     Experience in Project Management is essential

    Skill/Abilities

    •     Strong communication and writing skills
    •     Ability to provide practical solutions within set deadlines.
    •     Ability to maintain donor relationship and accountability in line with funding policies and standards are essential.
    •     Excellent skills to motivate and inspire a functional team will be essential

    Fiinance Officer

    Education/Qualifications

    • Degree in Accounting or Finance is essential.
    • Chartered Accounting Professional Certification is desirable

    Experience

    • At least five (5) years post NYSC experience, three (3) of which should have been spent in a finance position with Sound Practical Knowledge of SUN accounting software and Spreadsheets (MS Office in general) are essential.
    • Experience in working with international development agencies is desirable.

    • Attention to details; fluency in spoken and written English language; ability to work independently and in a team & highly numerate skills are essential.

    Drivers

    Overall purpose
    The successful candidates will use ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) vehicles to facilitate movement of staff and equipment and to maintain vehicles and equipment according to AAN policies and procedure.  In addition, the person will be required to make basic repairs on the vehicle and give informed assessment of the vehicle whenever required.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    •     Provide administrative support for the Country support programme
    •     Ensure prompt delivery of mails and other messages in the Country Support Office
    •     To provide finance support for the country support programme by making bank transactions.
    •     Movement of Staff, Partners and visiting consultants while adhering to all road safety rules and regulations both at Local and Federal levels.
    •     Comply with AAN Health and Safety regulations
    •     Keep vehicle clean and free of trash
    •     Keep Line Manager informed of needed equipment repairs
    •     Maintain and update a file on the following;
    1.         Vehicle License
    2.         Vehicle registration papers
    3.         Daily checklist for vehicle
    4.         Vehicle Insurance Papers
    5.         Driver’s license appropriate for vehicle
    6.         Log book
    •     Be updated on the procedure for fire drills and other related emergencies
    •     Promptness in keeping appointments and adhering to agreed schedules.
    •     All other responsibilities as given by the Line Manager

    Qualifications

    •     GCE O’ Level with at least 4 credits

    Experience

    •     A minimum of 3 years work experience
    •     Experience in an international development agency

    Skill Abilities

    •     Demonstrable IT skills
    •     Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
    •     Good knowledge of FRSC rules and guidelines
    •     Good knowledge of Nigeria Road networks

    •     Creative and takes initiative.
    •     Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
    •     Willing to work additional hours at crucial times.
