    Consultant - Photography Services Data for Implementation


    Scope of Work

    Data.FI Nigeria is a five-year global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Data.FI partners with PEPFAR programs to accelerate and sustain access to high-quality data to expedite HIV epidemic control and maintenance. Data.FI supports host country governments to enhance existing health information systems (HIS) and conduct in-depth analysis of HIV epidemiologic and program data to inform management responses to gaps in HIV and AIDS programming and sustain impact by supporting local partner transition. Data.FI is seeking the services of a photographer to provide high quality pictures that will be used for programmatic materials (booklets, briefs, presentations).

    The photographer will be expected to provide photographs that represent the ethnic, economic and geographic diversity of Nigeria. The photographer will be expected to provide photographs of people (various ages, including children, youth), buildings (i.e. health centers, in communities) in both urban and rural settings of Nigeria.

    The themes of Data.FI activities and publications include electronic medical records, HIV data management and analysis, data review meetings, and software/capacity enhancements and development. The photographer’s portfolio should include pictures that could help illustrate each of these themes, such as:

    • Pictures of rural and urban areas in Nigeria
    • Pictures of settings related to healthcare (i.e. health centers/hospitals, and people in these settings – healthcare workers and patients) in rural and urban areas of Nigeria
    • Pictures of data entry into computerized systems at health facilities, of health laboratories and pharmacy services in Nigeria with people working in these settings
    • Pictures of families, including women, men, and children in Nigeria
    • Pictures of communities engaged in healthcare activities in Nigeria – community outreaches, immunizations etc.
    • Pictures of the HIV/AIDS Situation Room in Uyo, Akwa Ibom and/or Abuja and of teams in engaged in data review meetings at the state level

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Outstanding photography skills;
    • Previous experience working in similar assignment in Nigeria;
    • Diverse portfolio of high-quality photographs that meet Data.FI Nigeria needs.

    Deliverable:

    • The photographer is expected to deliver up to 50 high quality and high-resolution edited pictures (minimum of 300 bpi) on CD, flash disk, or shared cloud storage by January 31, 2020.
    • The pictures will need to be deemed acceptable by Data.FI. Draft products may need to be resubmitted after Data.FI feedback. Data.FI will pay per photo, and the photographer should specify their rate as per photo selected by Data.FI.
    • Data.FI is looking for up to 50 images of acceptable quality, but seeking a minimum of 25 photos.

    Essential:

    • All photographs of people must include a signed photograph release form.

    Copyright and Intellectual Property Rights

    • In consideration of the fees paid, the photographer expressly assigns to Palladium any copyright arising from the works she/he produces while executing this contract. All images (whether used for online or print purposes) will bear the photographer’s photo credit, as specified by international intellectual property rights.
    • The photographer may not use, sell, license, reproduce or otherwise disseminate or authorize others to use, reproduce or disseminate such works without prior consent from Palladium.
