Job Description

• Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
• Develop processes for optimizing database security.
• Set and maintain database standards.
• Manage database access.
• Performance tuning of database systems.
• Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
• Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
• Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
• Create automation for repeating database tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
• Experience with Backup, High Availability and Replication of databases
• MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred
• Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
• Extensive experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)
• Experience with cloud services (Microsoft Azure) a plus
• Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
• Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
• Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
• PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills
• Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Impeccable attention to detail

Job Description

• Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of servers.
• Install and upgrade server components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
• Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
• Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
• Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
• Troubleshoot issues and outages
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
• Upgrade systems with new releases and model

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 3 years System Administration experience
• Experience with cloud services (Microsoft Azure)
• Experience with Unified Communications Solutions (Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, E1 and GSM Gateways).
• Experience with Backup, High Availability and Replication
• IT certifications in Linux and Microsoft
• Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
• Experience with monitoring and Management Tools – SCCM, Azure Log Analytics/OMS
• Experience with security tools – Azure ATP, Microsoft Defender Security Center
• Experience with implementing and effectively developing IT Operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
• Experience with virtualization, Hyper-V and VMWare.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools (Microsoft PowerShell).
