    Accountant

    Job Responsibilities

    • Ownership of the Financial Reporting functions of the Company and accounting services unit Clients, using Sage Evolution Software,
    • Ownership of all management accounting functions, including the preparation of management accounts and reports, development and application of management performance reporting templates and performance measurement reports for the Company, units and employees and for Clients, cash flows management for the Company and its Clients using sage evolution software, Microsoft excel and any other suitable software;
    • Monitoring and evaluation of the financial performance of the Firm and all its Profit and Cost Centres and for Clients’ businesses
    • Provision of accounting support services to Units within the Firm and its Clients;
    • Compiling and analysing financial data for the preparation of financial statements, management control and accounting reports etc., at agreed intervals;
    • Ensuring that financial information and records are maintained, safeguarded, stored and managed using available hardware and software, applications, technology and other resources in compliance with industry standards, policies and procedures;
    • Ensuring that all reporting deadlines are met;
    • Establishing, monitoring and maintaining suitable accounting control procedures;
    • Resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities;
    • Preparation of budgets and forecasts, analysis of variances and related activities;
    • Develop and maintain financial data bases;
    • To ensure accurate recording and analysis of assets, liabilities, revenues and expenses;
    • Analysis of business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues;
    • Analysis of financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems; and
    • Carrying out other task, as may be assigned by the Management of the Firm.

    Essential Skills and Educational Requirements

    • Minimum of 3 years experience in Audit, most especially in preparation of management accounts and audit of incomplete records businesses.
    • A full qualification of ICAN or its equivalent is essential; Also, we consider those who are tracking towards full qualification;
    • He/she must be able to use Sage accounting software.
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal;
    • Information Communication Technology (“ICT”) skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word; and
    • Practical knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
    • Candidate must be open to travelling or servicing clients outside Lagos state

    • Ability to work in diverse/complex situations and from international work perspective;
    • Possession of good project management evaluation and analytical skills, superior decision-making ability, time management, prioritisation and organisational skills;
    • Build the reputation of the Firm through the quality of work, knowledge and experience; and
    • Monitor and uphold high quality of service to clients.
