Research and Analysis
- Provide insights into consumer preferences and the current soybean marketplace in Nigeria as a means of informing the development of research initiatives aimed at spurring innovation. Serve as an in-house expert on innovation in soybean value chains by monitoring ongoing private and public sector developments. Work with IITA communications team to ensure coordination between the FMA soybean project and the organizational research agenda.
- Support organizational efforts to develop systems for knowledge management and coordination across teams. Content Creation Work with communications team to create messaging and identify opportunities to communicate results and findings for innovation initiatives.

- Provide leadership for interdisciplinary research leading to management of critical diseases in root and tuber, cereal, legume and vegetable cropping systems in Eastern, Southern and Central Africa.

The project will deliver the following outcomes:
(i) documentation of dual purpose legumes, cassava and yam production and utilization in the targeted countries;
(ii) increased awareness of targeted smallholders of possible socio-economic and nutritional benefits of these crops; (iii) create expertise in the target countries on the production and use of the above technologies and practices,

Position/Responsibilities The Post-doc Soil Fertility Management will report to the Director for Central Africa. He/she will be responsible for delivering the project milestones in DR Congo, under direct supervision of the Root and Tuber Agronomist, based in Ibadan, Nigeria, and the Project Leader, based in Bukavu, DR Congo.
