    Community Access Consultant

    Job Description

    • Serve as a liaison between Ipas and community stakeholders as well as state partners.
    • Support the setting and administrative running of Ipas office in the state.
    • Organise and hold community level activities, by motivating and target beneficiaries to produce result.
    • Organise and conduct monthly meetings with young person, women’s groups, school association etc.
    • Contributes in tracking and analysis of community access results and summary for sharing across units.
    • Contribute to conducting peer review and compilation of success stories for proper documentation of activates.
    • Contribute to the development of strategies at the community level to support women’s ability to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights.
    • Act as a champion for community access, including collating requests for volunteer, materials and resources and working closely with Ipas Country Office.
    • Any other duty as may be assigned by the Supervisor and/or the Project Manager.
    • This role will also offer support to supporters and communities more widely, including building strong relationships internally and externally to enhance the team’s impact. 
    • Maintain oversight functions to all partners.
    • To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects Ipas Nigeria's commitment to safeguarding and protection and sexual misconduct policy.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

    Master’s degree holder in social sciences, preferably below 30 years with experience working with young persons, women’s groups and school associations, experience in program planning, implementation and budgeting. Understanding of the terrain and local language will serve as an added advantage.

    Health Systems Consultant

    The Health Systems Consultant collaborates with other Health Systems staff to strengthen comprehensive abortion care service delivery through facility upgrades, provider trainings, trainee mentorship and data collection for program and donor reporting.  The role provides technical assistance in planning and implementing training, logistical support, and service delivery strategies for expanding access to safe abortion and contraceptive services. The position collaborates with other staff to develop technical studies, conducts facility and provider-based supportive supervision, ensures necessary supplies are available to provide services at facility level, ensures data is collected from all intervention facilities and trainings, analyzes data, and develops reports.  

    • Participates in planning and organizing facility assessment and upgrades including providing comprehensive abortion care trainings, mentorship programs, and data collection to improve service delivery
    • Support the setting and administrative running of Ipas office in the state.
    • Participates in the development of training agendas and presentations for comprehensive abortion care trainings, identifying training needs, selecting trainers and facilities, and conducting trainings
    •  Prepares reports on training events and other program activities to document project progress
    • Performs orientations and baseline assessments for facilities
    •  Ensure appropriate facilities are selected for interventions, they have appropriate access to service delivery training, and maintain mentoring relationship to ensure best practices are being implemented to improve performance
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

    • MPH or master’s degree in related field
    • 3-5 years of experience
    •  At least 1-2 years of experience working in a clinical setting or non-governmental organization
    •  Must work well in a multi-cultural environment
    •  Ability to travel 50%
    •  Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
    • Medical or clinical background is an added advantage.
    • Ability to be able to conduct Qualitative & Quantitative evaluation of Public Health programs including User Centered Design (UCD) would be an advantage
    • Project and budget management experience
    • Understanding of the terrain and local language will serve as an added advantage

    Research and Evaluation Consultant

    The Research and Evaluation (R&E) Officer will be expected to support the Ipas Nigeria team in implementing all the research, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities of an SRHR Project to be implemented in Abia and Anambra

    • Support the setting and administrative running of Ipas office in the state.
    • Management and coordination of data collection & quality audit consultants 
    • R&E Training and dissemination activities
    • Data management, audit, analysis and report writing 
    • Implementation of User Centred Design (UCD) and other R&E activities
    • Project monitoring and documentation
    • Other duties as assigned by the Unit head.

    Minimum Requirements

    • MPH or MSc degree in Demography, Biostatistics, Epidemiology Public Health, Statistics, or related fields 
    • Experience in developing data collection tools, data collection and analysis
    • Good knowledge of data management and statistical software such as Epi Data, CSPro, ODK, SPSS, Stata, etc.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Committed to working full time
    •  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, and Word)
    • Understanding of the terrain and local language will serve as an added advantage

    Driver

    The Driver is responsible for meeting the transportation needs of the project as assigned. In accordance with supervisor’s instructions, transports in-country employees and visitors within the city and surrounding area.  Maintains vehicle in clean and serviceable condition and performs minor maintenance of a preventive nature. Completes trip tickets and mileage. Collects and deliver mails around the city. Completes the vehicle logbook. He/she might be required to travel to other states

    •  Fulfill the transport needs and carry out the driving requirements of the office as directed
    • Convey staff to the various places and destinations as they may need to visit in the course of their work
    • Facilitate the transfer of visitors to/from their respective hotels to the office as well as airport transfers upon request
    • Always ensure the safety of staff and visitors by driving safely.
    • Ensure security of vehicles.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles by regularly washing the interior and exterior.
    • Ensure vehicles are kept in good working order; regularly check lights, indicators, brakes, tire pressure, oil, battery and radiator and report any defects to the supervisor.
    • Conduct trips using the shortest possible route and avoid unnecessary deviations and multiple trips to minimize mileage and time wastage.
    • Follow the correct procedure in the event of an accident.  Notify the supervisor immediately and render assistance where necessary.
    • In liaison with the supervisor, ensure that all necessary servicing is performed by reputable outlets.
    • Display good road manners and obey all traffic regulations. Stop only where it is safe to do so.
    • Understand that use of vehicles for personal trips by self or other staff is prohibited.
    • In liaison with the supervisor, ensures that the vehicle documents are renewed promptly.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     Minimum Requirements

    • Completion of secondary school.
    • Must have a valid driving license.
    • A minimum of one year of driving experience in the assigned region
    • Must have basic skills in vehicle maintenance; ability to do simple general maintenance as required on the vehicle.
    • Must be conversant with all traffic regulations and the Highway Code.
    • Must be ready to make long distance trips.
    • Proven integrity.
