    Trading Operator

    Reports to: GM- Supply & Trading

    Job Description

    • The Trading Operator is responsible for the timely execution and implementation of agreed terms & conditions as per the trader’s deal recap.
    • You will be responsible for all operational obligations as stated in the contract and is required to coordinate all service providers involved i.e. inspectors, agents, providers, brokers, vessel owners.
    • He/She is also required to negotiate and charter vessels at best competitive rates, terms and conditions.

    Job Specifications

    • Regularly update the Trading Solution system “ASPECT”, SAP and Trading position with operational information and Cost Estimates.
    • Negotiate and Control all Trade Operations related costs
    • Ensure all nominations; Voyage Order; Loading/Discharge Orders are sent out timely.
    • Monitor Progress of all operations
    • Review, negotiate and agree Purchase & Sales contracts are in line with agreed terms as stated in the traders recap and as per Incotems latest issue.
    • Add value to the execution of deals by exercising embedded commercial and logistical options via a pro-active approach to problem solving
    • Liaise with counterparties to ensure smooth operations that will avoid delays and minimize demurrage costs.
    • Liaise with all relevant service providers (Terminals/Vessels/Inspectors/Agents/Brokers) on a regularly basis; ensuring all post deal activities & operational information are passed on in good time, as well as documentary requirements are met

    Person Specifications

    • A good first degree in a relevant field
    • At least 2 year Experience in Oil Trading Operations, Ship Operations and related logistics
    • Additional relevant certifications will be added advantage
    • Good knowledge of International trade and the Incortems
    • Good knowledge of Shipping terms
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Forward thinking with natural aptitude for implementing innovative processes
    • Proficiency in French will be added advantage.

    Civil Engineer

    Job Responsibilities

    • Schedule material and equipment purchases and deliveries
    • Assess the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
    • Ensure projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time
    • Assists the Project Engineer in monitoring progress of construction against the programme, and takes steps to ensure the programme is achieved for the various projects.
    • Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for the Project works and monitors it for improvement.
    • Evaluates, selects, and adapts construction management and control techniques, procedures,and criteria to suit job tasks, and devises and implements solutions to problems encountered.
    • Ensures that team members/sub-contractors effectively identify, manage and report project risks.
    • Understand the aspects of site supervision and construction management of projects.

    Educational Qualifications

    • B.Sc in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an internationally recognized and accredited university.
    • Min of 7 - 10 postgraduate years of experience and a minimum of 5 years of similar work experience on large construction projects
    • Must be Certified
    • Must be highly experienced in Quantity Surveying, BOQ, Bidding & Tendering

    Quantity Surveyor

    Responsibilities

    • Must possess a practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinking
    • Identifying document and coordinating with the construction managers to resolve potential issues.
    • Analyzing information, reporting and recommendations
    • Quantifying and estimating costs for all proposed variations / change orders.
    • Participating in all change order negotiations.
    • Preparing, as required, cost estimates for each potential change.
    • Generating and processing necessary change order documentation.
    • Recommending approval/disapproval of change orders to the senior project manager.
    • Reviewing the commercial aspects of proposed contract changes.
    • Resolving requests for equitable adjustment, contract disputes and contract claims. -
    • Contract interpretation.
    • Management of provisional sum expenditures.

    Educational Qualification

    • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering or any related field
    • 5- 7 years and above of general construction estimating experience and quantity surveying experience.
    • Must be Certified
    • Must have capability to extract quantities and create basis for BOQ
    • Must have technical civil engineering skills
