Position Summary
Search for Common Ground seeks a professional, motivated, and creative expert to serve as Media Coordinator to support implementation of the media component of an Electoral Violence Mitigation project, which is part of a larger project on increasing the participation by marginalized groups in Nigerian political processes. The media coordinator shall be supervised by the Project Manager and in close coordination with the Project Coordinators, Communication Coordinator and the Project Officer.
S/He will lead the implementation of state level media activities in Kogi and Bayelsa with support from the Media Manager and the Project Lead. S/He will also coordinate the conflict sensitive journalism training, social media monitoring and support state level networks of journalists. This includes coordinating the media network, facilitating media advisory sessions, working with the Early Warning Analyst and the Project Officer to track hate speech and develop peace messages. S/He will be responsible for media mapping, mobilizing state TV and radio stations, print media and social media influencers to support state level Media Peace Day.
Reporting Line: S/He will report to the Project lead with a functional reporting line to the Media and Communications Manager.
