Refrigerator & AC Technician at an International School

As a Refrigerator and AC Technician, you will be responsible for all HVAC and Refrigeration systems within the Technical Operations unit. Troubleshoot, repair and maintain various facility components which may include, but is not limited to, HVAC, refrigerator.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• ND or Trade Test in relevant field
• 2 years’ experience with HVAC/Refrigeration is required
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Physically fit and able to exert physical energy
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Neat, humble and well groomed
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
• Ability to work under pressure

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Test systems for proper functioning, performs emergency repairs, service air conditioning equipment, and refrigerators, orders supplies and makes routine adjustments to maximize operational efficiency
• Records data when inspecting systems such as temperature of equipment, frequency of parts replacement, and hours of operation
• Dispose properly all refrigerants when servicing air conditioning equipment since refrigerants can be harmful to the environment
• Identify events and actions by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences and detecting changes in circumstances
• Communicates with maintenance supervisor, provide information to supervisors, co-workers by telephone, in writing or in person
• Inspects equipment and make recommendation on materials usage
• Maintain equipment operational efficiencies and utilization within manufacturers’ effective operation specifications
• Perform tasks and operations within established standards
• Support overall Site objectives on Safety, Quality, Customer Service and Cost
• Observes and follows Atlantic Hall policies and procedures
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the Deputy Facilities Manager
