    Safety & Loss Prevention Engineer (M/F)

    Job Descriptions

    • Make input on Technical Safety documents for facilities /assets design, operation and abandonment, in conformity with Group, Industry and Statutory requirements
    • Lead safety studies requiring release, explosion and dispersion models that predict consequences of accidental and design losses of products from process, storage, transport and distribution operations.
    • Lead the development of SCE Solution through the identification, verification and management of Safety Critical Elements, and assist in ensuring compliance with Safety Case Regulation and the Design and Construction Regulations for the Offshore oil and gas industry
    • Take part in the drafting of reference documents such as plans, procedures and guidelines within the context of Safety engineering scope, as it applies to Deepwater operations
    • Review HSE philosophies and criteria to be included for Pre-projects and Projects
    • Validate safety assessments required for obtaining licenses, permits and authorizations to operate
    • Review and validate requests raised for exemptions / derogations from applicable reference standards and rules regarding Technical Safety management
    • Participate in reviews for identifying, assessing and management of risks regarding Simultaneous Operations and Downgraded Situations
    • Monitor and report periodically to Management the implementation status of Technological Risks programs in Deepwater operational assets
    • Be involved in discussion with Nigerian Authorities / Total HQ for Deepwater District on major risk management initiatives and innovations
    • Participate in Safety Reviews regarding Site Modification Requests (including HAZID and HAZOP), ensuring conformity with the EP referential, as well Industry practice
    • Ensure that Safety Engineering standards and reference documents from HQ (directives, rules, specifications, and guidelines) are properly understood and cascaded to the Deepwater entities and operational sites
    • Maintain track of changes in Safety Engineering referential, codes and standards, and ensure the dissemination of same within the District
    • Prepare reports on performance of technical safety programs including major risk management, safety critical elements monitoring, process hazards analysis, safety reviews and risk assessments
    • Lead process safety events investigations, report and follow up corrective actions
    • Maintain performance measuring indicators and dashboard for process safety management in the District
    • Facilitate the execution of training plan for Technical Safety personnel in Deepwater District
    • Take part in HSE Committee meetings, promoting technical safety awareness
    • Participate in audits of installations and operations, checking for conformity to reference documents
    • Take part in incident and anomaly reporting, investigations and analyses
    • Ensure the follow-up and execution of actions from incident investigations, audit and inspections
    • Contribute in developing budgets for perform

    Profile

    • Formal education (Degree): B.Sc in Engineering or Applied Sciences
    • Professional experience (number of years): 10 Years in Safety and Environment of Oil and Gas Industry with at least 5 years in Technical Safety.

    Candidate Criteria:

    • Minimum level of experience required: 10 years or more

    Languages:

    • English (D-Full professional proficiency)
