    Part-Time Music Teacher

    We are looking to recruit a creative Nursery/Primary music teacher who will join our highly motivated and friendly team. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for teaching and drive to make a difference to children’s lives.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about the entitlement of young people to have a rich experience in the performing arts.

    The successful candidate will have an unwavering belief in the potential of every student. He/she will do what it takes to ensure that students achieve their best, and will have the contagious enthusiasm for the subject which excites and motivates students.

    We will look to you to promote high expectations for our students, designing learning activities that are aligned to our school's curriculum and creating a learning culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved.

    You will:

    • Have a music degree and relevant musical experience
    • Have experience of teaching music in a primary school in all year groups from Nursery 1 to year 6
    • Be proficient in 2 instruments (Piano is a must)
    • Be an excellent practitioner who is able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment.
    • Be able to provide a high quality music education so that pupils develop a love of music and develop their talent as musicians.
    • Ensure you coordinate extra-curricular music activities, including instrumental
    • Be committed and creative.
    • Also be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative practice to raise achievement.
    • Keep current with professional developments within the subject area
    • Develop and model the highest standards of teaching in Music teaching and Learning
    • As a teacher, you must teach music set out in the National Curriculum to all year groups.

    This will include teaching pupils to:

    • Learn to read and write music on the stave.
    • Understand and use musical language- dynamics, tempo, timbre, pitch rhythm, beat and texture.
    • Learn about a variety of styles, genres and composers.
    • Learn to improvise and compose on a variety of instruments
