    HSE Supervisor

    Job description

    • Provide written assessments identifying shortcomings and/or opportunities for improvement on processes and procedures.
    • Ensure that hazard/ risk assessments are systematically carried out.
    • Supervise truck inspection and ensure compliance with safety policies before allowing truck in for loading.
    • Make sure all fire fighting equipment, vehicle are in serviceable conditions.
    • Co-ordinate monthly and quarterly fire drills and ensure compliance with stated policies on same.
    • Performs high level of first aid treatment and evaluate injured persons if it is needed to send them for further medical treatment at a clinic.
    • Conduct periodic safety and health walk-through inspection of all workplace facilities.
    • Establish, monitor programmes for reporting and investigating “near miss”/critical incidents and profer remedial actions to prevent future occurrence.
    • Identifies training needs, develop appropriate training programmes and deliver trainings to staff as well as conduct safety induction.
    • Ensure no contractor or sub-contractor is permitted to work at the depot without being in possession of safety file and work permits.
    • Chairs monthly safety meetings with safety reps and contractors and prepares minutes. Ensure that all stated deviations are rectified and corrected.
    • Ensure that all teams conduct a toolbox talk.
    • Ensure all safety signs and notices are prominently displayed in strategic spots.
    • Enforce safety & security policies.
    • Liaise with the community, statutory bodies and Company’s external consultant on HSE matters.
    • Ensure the staff are well kitted on appropriately.
    • Ensure safety compliance by all- staff, customers & visitors.

    Requirements

    • Bsc./B.Tech Engineering
    • Professional certifications such as Nebosh and OSHE is an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 5 years working experience (post qualification) with at least 3 years’ experience in an oil depot or in a similar position.
    • Possesses strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
    • Knowledge of ship or barge & road tanker receiving, terminal handling, stock control.
    • Shows confidence to take a project from concept through final application and execution.

    Terminal / Facilities Coordinator

    Job description

    • Manage and maintain the depot jetty to meet the quality and safety standards as set down by the depot operating policies and procedures.
    • This role reports to the Depot Manager
    • Oversee marine operation, monitoring and control of vessels/tugs & barges, both on arrival and departure.
    • Source for strategic partners in providing assist tugs, as well as other means to minimize delays at anchorage.
    • Communicate effectively with port authority, tug masters, and marine regulators during product receipts.
    • Ensure high standards of operational plans and procedures thereby maximizing operational efficiency at the jetty.
    • Ensure that the terminal/jetty is able to respond to any emergency as and when required.
    • Pro-actively ensure the functional integrity of all maintenance systems and jetty equipment.
    • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
    • Ensure compliance with all legislation for facilities management, including Occupation Health & Safety legislation.
    • Participates in the development of new or revised programs, systems, procedures, and methods of operations; consults with and advises division personnel; makes recommendations; reviews and evaluates the implementation of changes.
    • Monitor, track and evaluate the work performance of all subcontractors to ensure that they perform according to the contracted standards, due dates and cost restraints.
    • Investigate and compile detailed project plans as and   when required.
    • Regular performance meeting with service providers in conjunction with Administrator and reporting of facility management & building issues on a regular basis to management.

    Requirements

    • B sc./B.Tech Engineering & MSc. In Engineering will be an added advantage. Preferably a member of Engineering professional body.
    • Project Management Certificate is an added advantage
    • A minimum of 6 years working experience (post qualification) with at least 3 years’ experience in an oil depot or in a similar position.
