    Proposal Writing Specialist

    Job Description

    • The jobholder will support Nextier Advisory in expanding impact by reviewing request for proposals (RFPs) and associated documents, to ensure layout and content of proposals are in full compliance with published requirements.
    • The jobholder will take the lead in the proposal development process, reviewing the request, writing the proposal, and packaging in line with donor requirements.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Proposal writing, bid preparation, business intelligence gathering, pipeline development and capturing opportunities in the donor and public sector in Nigeria and beyond.
    • Determining proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for proposal (RFPs).
    • Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
    • Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance and evaluation, writing, revising and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions and organization credentials
    • Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates.
    • Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone, maintaining proposal support databases.
    • Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate; implementing changes.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Social Sciences, International Development, Business Development Studies.
    • Between 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.
    • Excellent proposal writer with minimum of 5 years of proposal writing is required.
    • Knowledge and experience working with donors, international development firms/service providers and know the political economy of donor/government contracts and procurement processes.
    • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and writing.
    • Advanced knowledge of the Development sector in Nigeria is an added advantage
