    Package Manager

    About

    • The Package Lead Engineer is responsible for the completion of the work related to his package within the targets of HSES, Quality, Cost and Schedule.

    The Package Lead Engineer is responsible within his package to:

    • Define with the Project Manager, the other Work Packages Engineers and Project Functions Managers, as needed, the physical limits of their respective Package and associated HSES, Quality and Schedule Targets as well as detailed Budget.
    • Ensure the implementation of HSES and Quality Objectives.
    • Assist the Project Manager in the implementation of Project Objectives and motivation of the Team.
    • Prepare an Execution Plan and a Convergence Plan.
    • Control and report budget and schedule.
    • Identify and ensure management of changes.
    • Propose and agree with the Project Manager reallocation of budget across the various Disciplines (mainly Engineering, Procurement and Operations) as needed to suit the best interests of the Project.
    • Coordinate and follow up the execution of all Engineering work, Supply Chain activities, Fabrication work and Operations.
    • Take ownership and manage the Risks and schedule associated to their work package scope of work.
    • Identify and progress external interfaces and link with the Interface Manager.
    • Check that the allocated resources are sufficient and that level of experience to carry out the work and meet the targets is adequate.
    • Highlight to Project Manager any area of concern and seek arbitration in case of conflicts related to internal interfaces.
    • Assist the Project Manager during periodic meetings with COMPANY and participate to CONTRACTOR Management reviews.
    • Participate with Functions Managers in the yearly appraisal of resources.

    Requirements

    • Engineering Degree associated with Mechanical, Civil, Offshore or Marine disciplines.
    • Understanding of client's installation environment and the needs of the various disciplines supporting the project.
    • Fluent in English Language.
    • Competent in Microsoft Office and Lotus notes applications.
    • Extensive experience in Hook-up / Revamping /Precom activities.

    Field Engineer

    About

    • The Field Engineer shall become familiar with aspects of the assigned vessel installation systems and techniques.
    • The Field Engineer provides assistance to the project in preparation of the project execution onboard the vessel, check the equipment before and during the mobilization.
    • The Field Engineer will support the offshore operations and ensure that construction activities are performed in accordance with procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Reporting to the OM, the engineer may also be required to assist the Chief Engineer in undertaking engineering tasks for ship/equipment modifications/repairs/upgrades.

    Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

    • To become familiar with the vessels capability and ensure engineering documentation and drawings appropriate to the vessel systems are maintained on board to reflect the current status of the vessel.
    • To identify problem areas on aspects of the systems for improvement to increase the efficiency of the installation processes.
    • Ensure a comprehensive logbook during the project work is maintained to assist handover between shifts, handover between replacements and in compilation of as-built books.
    • Identifying improvements to the engineering process.
    • Provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in key areas of discipline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice.
    • Sign and issue technical documentation as originator or checker, accepting personal responsibility for its adequacy.
    • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed.
    • Provide technical interface between the Project, Construction and Marine personnel on the vessel.
    • Give direct operational guidance to deck, equipment, ROV and services personnel.
    • Recommend new work methods to improve safety and/or efficiency.
    • Provide operational input to onshore project teams throughout the onshore phase of projects.
    • Participate in project HAZID’s and HAZOP’s when available.
    • Participate in review of offshore procedures and feedback to project engineers onshore.
    • Promote safety culture and initiatives to the construction crew throughout all offshore activities.
    • Inspection of construction equipment and reporting potential problems to the appropriate discipline leads.
    • Other tasks as assigned by OM, commensurate with individuals experience, skills and capabilities.

    Requirements

    • Ability to lead and function within a design team and across multiple projects.
    • Ability to prioritise own workload, manage time accordingly and inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.
    • Manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers.
    • Manage change control within own remit on a project. Inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.
    • Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints.
    • Show high technical competence in key discipline areas.

    Project Manager

    About

    • The Project Manager is to ensure that the Contract is executed in accordance with NigerStar 7 / Subsea 7 procedures and Contract requirements, meeting targets set  in terms of HSES and Quality, while achieving schedule constraints and financial objectives.
    • Establish a Project Execution Plan for the completion of the Project demonstrating excellence all through.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Put forward a clear understanding of HSEQ throughout the Project and be seen as positively influencing Safety culture and measures in all Project phases, encouraging and supporting initiatives.
    • Ensure the implementation of an effective Risks and Opportunities Management system.
    • Establish the Project organization and secure sufficient and qualified resources throughout the duration of the Project.
    • Manage and contribute to the development of the human resources assigned to the project and ensure their yearly appraisal in liaison with the functional departments.
    • Ensure clear lines of responsibility, clear split of scope of work, clear communication channels and decision making processes throughout the Project Organization.
    • Develop “team spirit” throughout the Project for maximum understanding and ownership of Project goals at all levels to enhance Project performance.
    • Ensure that a complete package of tender documentation is available at or immediately after Contract Award to achieve effective handover of the tender.
    • Ensure at the beginning of the Contract that the detailed budget against which the Contract performance will be measured is prepared, split by Functions and Work Packages, as applicable.
    • Provide regular feed back of “lessons learnt”.
    • Ensure that NigerStar 7 systems and tools are in place to allow real-time monitoring of project parameters and performance indicators.
    • Identify and manage Contract changes and notify Company in a timely manner, of their impact on costs, work schedule and Contract obligations.
    • Ensure monitoring, co-ordination and management of the work being performed by all Function Managers, Work Package Managers, Subcontractors and Vendors involved in the Contract.
    • Ensure that all internal and external interfaces are identified and closed out in a timely manner.
    • Ensure that the Project financial results are within target or above and initiate any corrective action that may be required for this purpose.
    • Accurate and timely reporting of Project status to Company and to NigerStar 7 management.
    • Ensure proper closing out of the Contract, both with Company and Subcontractors.
    • Prepare a Contract Completion Report highlighting deviations from schedule and budget with reasons and explanations.

    Requirements

    • Engineering Degree associated with Mechanical, Civil, Offshore or Marine disciplines.
    • Min 15 years Project Management Experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
    • Experience within  West Africa is a plus.
    • Experience in pipelay and EPCI projects is very essential.
    • Understanding of installation environment and the needs of the various disciplines.
    • Supporting the project.
    • Fluent in English Language.
    • Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office.
