    Human Resources Manager

    Location Maiduguri

    Main Purpose
    Work with the technical support of the Area HR Coordinator based in HQ for the management of the National Staffs (policies/strategies, rules and tools).
    Is responsible for the design, regular update and implementation of the National Staffs Internal
    Regulations.
    Support the mission staffs (National and International) with team management responsibilities in the application of Internal Regulations.
    Reporting to:
    Hierarchical: Head of Mission
    Functional: Area Hr Coordinator/Hr Referent
    Coordinates with: Country Finance Coordinator
    Tasks
    Planning

    • Design, implement and update the National Staffs Internal Regulations in line with INTERSOS standards and with the local Labour Law. The regulations include as ANNEX: the
    • salary grid/list of functions, the recruitment process, the evaluation process and the steps foreseen for the Induction of new hired staff
    • Develop a standardized Induction programme for national staff
    • Design and implement the salary grid. Update the grid on regular basis with the support of the Area HR Coordinator
    • In coordination with the mission Sectorial Coordinators (e.g. Head of Mission, Country Finance Coordinator, Log coordinator, Project Manager) design and update the mission organizational
    • charts (for both National and International staffs) and the national staff Job Descriptions.
    • Guarantee standardization across the mission
    • Follow up on local training opportunities for the National Staffs and shares information/coordinates with the Project Managers or any other relevant team member.
    • Support in the identification of possible training needs
    • Implementation and Monitoring
    • Monitor and guarantee the implementation of the Internal Regulations through regularly visits to the project locations
    • Keep track of the training taken by the National Staffs
    • With the support of the project administrators guarantee that all personnel dossiers are kept in order and updated (e.g. contract of employment, contract’s amendment, CV, national id,
    • pictures, disciplinary measures, leave requests and justifications resignation letters)
    • Coordinate local recruitments (e.g.: prepares the Job Vacancies, checks the received applications and participates in the shortlisting, participates in interviews and oversees the
    • whole selection process)
    • Support all team members with team management responsibilities when dealing with disciplinary measures
    • Support the Coordinators in the evaluation process and guarantees that all National staffs are properly and regularly evaluated. Make sure evaluations are properly archived
    • Coordinate with the Country Finance Coordinator in making sure that the payslips correctly include what is foreseen in terms of remuneration by the salary grid
    • Support the Head of Mission in the implementation and follow-up of the international
    • Staffs administrative aspects (leaves, R&R, House Allowance, Family Benefits, Staff Separation Clearance Checklist, Flight Booking)
    • Write and share regular ad-hoc reports of his/her own work and HR monthly report through IMP
    • Representation
    • Make sure the Internal Regulations is validated by INTERSOS legal advisor and by the local Labour Office
    • Liaise with the local legal advisor and with the labour office on the HR matters

    Minimum Requirement

    • Bachelor’s degree in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Administration etc. or any other relevant field.
    • Qualified/certified / member of a recognized HR management body
    • Minimum of 5 years HR Practitioner experience: 3 years of managerial level in Human Resources Management Systems and Processes preferably with in the INGO in Nigeria.
    • Strong experience with Contract and payroll management in line with local labor laws.
    • Proven experience of providing leadership on all HR issues at the same time balancing the strategic role with the need to deliver effective day-to-day HR administration services.
    • Good organisational and personal management skills, with ability to prioritize work issues to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and adjust to constantly changing situations while
    • maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through
    • Ability to represent Intersos in a professional and competent manner with external individuals and organizations
    • Experience with working in a multicultural environment while being sensitive to local culture.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal English) and the ability to write clear, concise reports.
    • Strong analytical skills and experience using a computerized information management system (Ms Word, Excel, HR System/ software etc.) Ability to learn fast on new IT systems.
    • Willing to travel across field locations within Borno state- Should the need arise.
    • Willing to adjust to added responsibilities and committed to Intersos Values.

    Desirable

    • Qualified/certified / member of a recognized HR management professional body.
    • Advanced University Degree (Master's degree or equivalent)) in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or other relevant discipline.
    • Appreciable knowledge of Nigeria Labor/Employment Laws.
    • Ability to speak Hausa will be an added advantage.

    Ware House Data Collection Officer

    NgalaDuty station: Banki/Bama (Borno State)
    Reporting to: Ware House Manager
    Status: Full time
    Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)
    Starting date: As soon as possible

    Position summary
    The WH Data Collection & Storage Officer should responsible under overall supervision of WH In- charge to the common Warehouse activities, assessment & analysis related data implemented
    within the framework of the project plans, ensuring that they are delivered following the proposal text agreed upon with the donor, and that these activities are achieving timely results. During
    absence of WH Incharge, position will be wholly accountable for given activities under direct supervision of Project Lead.
    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Understand, implement and / or maintain standard INTERSOS inventory management policies and procedure;
    • Provide information and logistics support to partners and warehouse staff where necessary;
    • Responsible for data keeping/documentation at all times. Take lead in data tracking of all partners using the storage facility.
    • Responsible for documentation of all receipt and dispatch (received notes/Delivery note/Stock transfer sheet/Waybills) are complete and archived in compliance with
    • INTERSOS standards (scan documents and archive digital versions on computer) BOTH
    • SOFT AND HARD COPIES.
    • Ensure the maintenance of warehouse and other relevant document.
    • Update as per INTERSOS requirements, the asset register, Asset inventory list and expendable store inventory list and produce timely reports as requested by the warehouse in-charge and in relation to WFP standard of operations (SOPs).
    • Support in preparing and sending to the warehouse and supply chain coordinator the stock report on a monthly basis.
    • Develop new data collection and data analysis tools, including efficient data capturing forms.
    • Cargo tracking on RITA software with the warehouse in- charge and proper takeover in his absence.
    • Perform any other task as assigned by the supervisor.
    • Maintain physical and digital records according to standard guidelines considering: update the Relief Item Tracking Application daily to reflect all transactions (new requests, receipt of
    • goods, and release of goods) based on completed documentation; maintain physical records per individual request/consignment per Service User.
    • Filling of waybills, consignment reports, labourers pay sheet as well as any relevant document for proper record keeping and documentation.
    • Compile data of which actors are in location, what type of activities they do;
    • Put together data of Partners contact list (MoU contact & actual contact)
    • Collect accurate data for generator usage
    • Effectively communicate the status, value, and importance of data collection to staff.
    • Prepare and deliver weekly/monthly/mid term / final data reports;
    • Keep and share the record of visitor: suggestions - comments - complains
    • Take record of car data
    • Take minutes of internal/external meetings and keep record
    • Archive every day problems / challenges with the solutions given or suggested
    • Create and maintain databases and spreadsheets that meet operational requirements.
    • Assist in developing the project data collection plan including monitoring and evaluation tools
    • Support the project manager to compile data and present quality statistics that meet user needs and contribute to decision making;
    • Keeping the data as up to date as possible;
    • Offer IT support and training to INTERSOS staff in Bama / Banki
    • IT focal point in Bama/Banki

    Minimum Requirement

    • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer science;
    • Minimum 3 years of experience from at national level project implementation position in a humanitarian / recovery context;
    • Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts;
    • Advance knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
    • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities;
    • Experience in leadership and problem solving;
    • Fluency in English, both written and oral;
    • Capacity to adapt to basic living conditions, patience;
    • Ability to put up with pressure from government agencies;
    • Ability to deliver high quality work within tight deadlines;

    Nurse

    Duty station: Ngala - Borno State - with travel to other activity sites.
    Reporting to: Clinical Supervisor
    Status: Full time
    Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)
    Starting date: As soon as possible

    Position summary:

    • To provide nursing care, treatment and follow-up of patients according to the protocols applied and universal hygiene standards/precautions, in order to
    • ensure the quality and continuity of care for the beneficiaries.
    • To undertake health programme activities guaranteeing the efficient and effective sensitization, mobilization and participation of the targeted communities, thereby
    • maximizing program performance. The nurse shall ensure that supportive supervision is given to the community mobilizers, Health Assistants, guidelines
    • set in the health protocols are followed during program implementation. The nurse shall also ensure that every beneficiary receives adequate medical
    • examination, the required routine and prescribed medication and referral for additional treatment, as appropriate and according to the protocols.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control,
    • security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment in
    • the targeted HF and in the mobile clinic. Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times.
    • Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, performing consultations and other minor medical
    • procedures. Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary.
    • Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents (fill in patient’s files, forms, consumptions, statistics, registers, health files, etc.),
    • and reporting any problematic situations and cases that may arise. Participating in data collection and keeping doctors/supervisors informed;
    • Be available to oversee screening, treatment and follow up of malnourished patients in the field sites when called upon
    • Ability to head the outreach and hygiene promotion team and guide community health volunteers from time to time
    • Participate in planning and undertaking health surveys, rapid assessments, as well as in the monitoring and evaluation of the health
    • program activities
    • Responsible for providing inputs and data for monthly health activities’ reports in timely manner.
    • Participate and update progress in weekly technical meeting with health staff
    • Responsible for accurate record keeping, ordering and accountability of health equipment, supplies and drugs (Participating in the department-
    • related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality and its functioning, storage conditions, follow-up of expired drugs
    • inventories, stock takes of medicines and material, etc.)
    • Ensure the quality of the health service given in all different locations meet the expected standards.
    • Responsibility for the day to day management of project site activities and staff.
    • Conduct trainings to build the capacity of staff/volunteers, MoH staff and the community at large
    • Performing other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution
    • At least 2 years post qualifying experience in a similar environment as the project sites above
    • Possession of a valid practicing certificate.
    • Diploma in Nutrition will be and additional advantage
    • Experience in implementation of nutrition program will be an additional advantage
    • Background/familiarity with Emergency.
    • Good command of written and spoken English, Kanuri and Hausa Languages
    • Strong interpersonal and team building skills and excellence as a team player.
    • Must possess the ability to learn with speed and ease.
    • Strong sense of responsibility, methodical and accurate with high organizational skills
    • Honesty and integrity and able to cope with stressful situations.
    • Manages effectively his/her own time as well as flexible and available to work over time when needed
    • Willing to be deployed to the newly liberated local government areas
