    Qualification and Experience for Academic Staff

    Professor: PhD degree with at least 10 years post-qualification experience in University
    teaching and research in the relevant fields. Candidates must have good record of scholarly
    publications along with evidence of considerable teaching and research, demonstrable capacity
    for academic leadership as well as proficiency in ICT. Candidates are expected to be registered
    with various recognized professional bodies, as applicable.

    Associate Professor: PhD degree with at least 8 years post-qualification experience in
    University teaching and experience in relevant fields. Other conditions are as for Professor.
    Senior Lecturer: PhD degree with at least 5 years post-qualification cognate experience
    buttressed with a suitable number of publications and ICT proficiency.
    Lecturer I: PhD degree with at least 3 years teaching and research experience along with a
    suitable number of publications and ICT proficiency.
    Lecturer II: Fresh PhD graduate in relevant field or in exceptional cases, candidates with good
    Master’s degree, who have advanced in their doctoral programmes. Evidence of research
    capability and ICT proficiency are required.

    Assistant Lecturer: A good Master’s degree with evidence of current registration for the
    Doctoral degree in a reputable University. Progress report on PhD programme and ICT
    proficiency are required.

    Qualification and Experience for Non-Teaching Staff.
    1. Director of Works and Physical Planning: Director of Works shall be responsible to the
    Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the Works and Physical Planning
    directorate. The appointee should exhibit considerable ability to control and coordinate
    operations of engineering, technical and professional nature in the university estate.
    Applicant must possess a good honours degree in the field of Engineering or
    Architecture from a recognized university. Membership of the professional regulatory
    body (COREN, ARCON, NIA) is required. In addition, the Candidate must have at least
    fifteen (15) years cognate post-qualification working experience most of which
    preferably should be in services related to a university works/physical planning
    department.
    2. Secretary
    A good first degree or HND in Secretarial Studies with minimum of 3 years working
    experience and ICT proficiency. Membership of relevant professional body or an MBA
    will be an added advantage.
    3. Senior Assistant Registrar
    Candidates must possess good honors degree (minimum of second class lower division)
    in a Social/ Management Science or Humanities field of study from a recognized
    university with at least 8 years of cognate professional experience. Must be computer
    literate.
    4. Assistant Registrar
    Candidates must possess good honors degree (minimum of second class lower division)
    in a social/Management science or Humanities field of study from a recognized
    university with at least 5 years of cognate professional experience. Must be computer
    literate.
    5. Administrative Officer I
    Candidates must possess good honors degree (minimum of second class lower division)
    in a social/Management science or Humanities field of study from a recognized
    university with at least 2years of cognate professional experience. Must be computer
    literate.
    6. Administrative Officer II
    Candidates must possess good honors degree (minimum of second class lower division)
    in a Social/Management Science or Humanities field of study from a recognized
    university. Must be computer literate.
    7. Principal /Senior/Higher/Executive Officers (Admin)
    HND in Public Administration/OND or NCE in Public Administration with minimum
    of 2years post qualification experience in tertiary institution for HEOs/EOs. More years
    of cognate experience will be required for PEOs and SEOs. Must be computer literate.
    8. Clerical Officer (Admin).
    SSCE/WAEC/NECO/GCE O’Level with 5 credit level passes including English
    Language and Mathematics at not more than 2sittings.
    9. Data Entry Clerk
    Good typing skill with minimum of 25WPM plus five SSCE Credit level passes
    including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.
    10. Office Assistant
    SSCE/WAEC/NECO/ GCE O’Level with three Credit level passes including English
    Language.
    11. Assistant Registrar (Legal)/Legal Officer I
    A good honors degree in Law (LLB) with BL and at least 3 years experience for AR
    (Legal) and 1 year experience for Legal Officer I. Must be computer literate.
    12. Principal/Senior Accountants
    A good honors degree in Accounting with cognate experience of 8 years for Principal
    and 5 years for Senior Accountants. First degree/HND plus Professional Qualification
    with 4 years for Principal and 2 years for Senior Accountants. Must be computer literate.
    13. Accountants I/II
    A good honors degree in Accounting with cognate experience of 3 years for Accountant I.
    A Professional Qualification would be an added advantage. Must be computer literate.
    14. Higher /Executive Officers (Accounts)
    HND in Accounting with 1year cognate experience for HEO while OND with 2years
    cognate experience is required for EO. Must be computer literate.
    15. Technical Services Librarian (Cataloguing)
    A good honours degree and a Master’s degree in Library Studies /Information Science
    with at least 6 years relevant experience. Must be computer literate.
    16. Users Services Librarian
    A good honours degree and a Master’s degree in Library Studies/Information Science
    with at least 6 years relevant experience. Must be computer literate.
    17. Serials Librarian
    A good honours degree and a Master’s degree in Library Studies/Information Science
    with at least 6 years relevant experience. Must be computer literate.
    18. Systems Librarian
    A good honours degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Informatics or
    any other relevant discipline with formal training in system analysis and computer
    programming. In addition, candidates must be versed in the use of LINUX and
    Windows Operating Systems. Experience in networking, use of library software/
    electronic library packages and systems maintenance will enhance the prospects of
    candidates.
    19. Librarian I
    A good honours degree in Library and Information Science plus MLS and 3years
    cognate work experience in a university library.
    20. Library Officer
    Diploma in library studies (DLS) in addition to five credit level passes in SSCCE
    including English Language.
    21. Library Assistant
    SSCE/WAEC/NECO/ GCE O’Level with five Credit level passes including English
    Language.
    22. Library Porter
    SSCE/WAEC/NECO/ GCE O’Level / NABTEB with Credit level passes in four subjects
    including English Language.
    23. Confidential Secretary I/II/III
    HND in Secretarial Studies with ICT skills and relevant respective experiences.
    24. Senior Internal Auditor
    A good honours degree in Accounting with relevant experience of 5 years. Or First
    degree/HND plus Professional Qualification with at least 2 years relevant experience.
    Must be computer literate.
    25. Assistant Registrar (Corporate/Media Affairs)
    A good honours degree in Mass Communication or related discipline with excellent
    writing skills in English and five years relevant experience. Must be a member of NIPR
    and be computer literate. A higher degree will be an added advantage.
    26. Administrative Officer I (Public/Community Relations)
    A good honours degree in Mass Communication or related discipline with excellent
    writing skills in English and three years relevant experience. Must be a member of NIPR
    and be computer literate. A higher degree will be an added advantage.
    27. Administrative Officer I (Protocol/ Corporate Affairs)
    A good honours degree in Mass Communication or related discipline with excellent
    writing skills in English and three years relevant experience. Must be a member of NIPR
    and be computer literate. A higher degree will be an added advantage.
    28. Counsellor I
    A good honours degree in Guidance and Counseling or related discipline with
    background in Christian religion. Minimum of three years relevant experience is
    required. A higher degree will be an added advantage. Must be computer literate.
    29. Social Worker
    Masters degree in social work. Must be computer literate.
    30. System Analyst/ Network Administrator
    A good honours degree in Computer Science or related discipline with formal training
    in systems analysis and computer programming. Not less than four years cognate
    experience in system analysis and design as well as computer application is required.
    CISCO certification will be an added advantage.
    31. System Programme II
    A good honours degree in Computer Science/Informatics or related discipline.
    32. System Engineer
    A good honours degree in Computer Engineering with COREN registration and a
    minimum of 2years cognate experience.
    33. Higher Technical Officer (ICT)
    HND in Computer Engineering with 2years cognate experience.
    34. Sports Administrator/ Coach
    A good honours degree in Physical Education/Sport Science or related discipline with
    qualification in sports organization and management. Experience in management of
    sports in tertiary institution is added advantage. Must be computer literate.
    35. Medical Officer
    A holder of MBBS fully registered with Nigerian Medical Council and at least 3years
    post qualification experience or a Candidate with postgraduate qualification in
    Medicine. Must be computer literate.
    36. Nursing Officer
    NRN or NRM or their equivalents will be acceptable. Evidence of registration with
    Nursing and Midwife Council of Nigeria is essential. BSc in Nursing Science will be an
    added advantage. At least 3 years of post qualification experience is desired. Must be
    computer literate.
    37. Principal Security Officer
    A good honours degree in Criminology/Sociology/Security studies with evidence of
    intensive security training or service in an arm of the armed forces or paramilitary
    organizations with a minimum of 10 years experience. Candidates should not be above
    45 years old. Must be computer literate.
    38. Security Officers/ Assistant Security Officers.
    A good honours degree plus 2 years experience in addition to a certificate in Security
    service. OND plus 2 years experience and a certificate in Security service will be
    accepted for position of Assistant Security Officer. Must be computer literate.
    39. Internal Auditor
    A good honours degree in Accounting with relevant experience. Or HND plus
    Professional Qualification with at least 1 year relevant experience. Must be computer
    literate.
    40. Higher Executive Officer (Audit)
    HND Accounting with 1 year cognate experience. Must be computer literate.
    41. Farm Manager
    A good honours degree in Agronomy/Crop Science Production/Farm management or
    other fields of agriculture with a minimum of 5years cognate experience in a University
    farm. Background practical/vocational training in agriculture will be an added
    advantage. Must be computer literate.
    42. Horticulturist
    A good honours degree in Horticulture or related discipline with intensive practical
    training in Ornamental Gardening or Floriculture. A minimum of 2 years work
    experience in Parks and Gardens, NIHORT or similar institution will be added
    advantage. Must be computer literate.
    43. Farm Assistant
    A minimum of OND in Crop Science/ Production, Agronomy, Horticulture, Animal
    Science or General Agriculture. Proficiency in the application of farm techniques for
    optimum productivity is an added advantage. Must be computer literate.
    44. Farm Attendants
    Secondary school education with a combination of experience and training in practical
    farm endeavours.
    45. University Chaplain
    BA, MA and PhD in religious studies or Theology from a reputable university with not
    less than 5 years in Pastoral/Eldership Ministry in The Apostolic Church. Applicants
    who are not suitable for lectureship job in Religious Studies will not be considered. Must
    be computer literate.
    46. Halls Administrator
    BSc/HND in Arts or Social Sciences with not less than 3 years cognate experience. Must
    be computer literate.
    47. Porters
    SSCE/WAEC/NECO/ GCE O’Level / NABTEB with Credit level passes in four subjects
    including English Language. Experience as a retired police, military or paramilitary
    personnel would be added advantage. Must be computer literate.
    48. Ventures Manager
    B Sc /HND Accounting, Economics, Banking and Finance or Entrepreneurship with a
    minimum of 5years cognate experience in relevant position. Must be computer literate.
    49. Science Laboratory Technologists (Chief Technologist/Technologist I/II)
    B Tech/HND in Science Laboratory Technology and Associate membership of the
    Nigerian Institute of Laboratory Technologists (ANIST) with at least 12 years post
    qualification experience for Chief Technologist and respective cognate experience for
    others. Must be computer literate.
    50. Laboratory Assistant
    A minimum of OND in Science Laboratory Technologist. Proficiency in practical
    laboratory techniques is added advantage. Must be computer literate.
    51. Laboratory Attendants
    SSCE/WAEC/NECO/ GCE O’Level with five Credit level passes in English Language,
    Mathematics and at least two Science subjects.
    52. Language Laboratory Technologist
    A good honours degree in English or French with ICT proficiency and cognate
    experience in application of relevant packages.
    53. Driver-Mechanics
    SSCE/WAEC/NECO/ GCE O’Level /NABTEB with three Credits including English
    Language. In addition, Drivers Trade Test I, II, III are required. Smart personality and
    Technical School. Diploma in Driving and Mechanic are added advantages. Minimum
    of three years cognate experience is essential.
    54. Senior Engineer
    B Sc Engineering (Civil, Building, Structural) plus COREN registration and minimum of
    6 years cognate experience in the building industry. Membership of NSE is an added
    advantage. Must be computer literate.
    55. Architect
    A good first degree in architecture plus registration with relevant professional bodies
    and minimum of four years cognate experience in the building industry. Must be
    computer literate.
    56. Builder
    A good first degree in Building Technology/Engineering plus professional
    qualifications as well as registration with professional bodies. A minimum of four years
    of cognate experience in the building industry is required. Must be computer literate.
    57. Higher Technical Officers (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Civil/ Interior/ Building/Estate
    Management)
    HND in the various fields indicate with relevant professional qualifications and
    registration with appropriate professional bodies/ associations. A minimum of 2years
    post qualification cognate work experience is required. Must be computer literate.
    58. Technical Assistants/ Artisans (Plumbing, Welding)
    OND or Technical qualifications in relevant fields with extensive practical training and
    work experience in reputable organizations. Must be computer literate.
    59. Gardeners
    OND or Technical qualifications or vocational skills in landscape horticulture,
    Ornamental horticulture, Plant Nursery and Floriculture techniques, and parks and
    garden techniques. Practical work experience in reputable organizations is essential.
