    Executive Director - Technical

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Formulating the company’s underwriting and reinsurance strategies
    • Underwriting of various classes of life assurance (individual and group business)
    • Arrangement of treaty cover notes
    • Undertaken actuarial valuation
    • Provide direct oversight for day to day operations of policy administration and insurance operational functions
    • New product development
    • Portfolio development
    • Ensuring customer satisfaction
    • Monitoring the quality of businesses and ensuring effective claims administration
    • Formulating Business Policies
    • Make recommendations that will support Company’s Strategic Business Direction
    • Implement Marketing Plan
    • Implement overall Strategic Plan and policies in accordance with board approved priorities
    • Implement overall Business Plan
    • Ensure Technical competences of technical staff are maintained
    • Developing corporate and business strategies
    • Developing corporate product strategies
    • Oversee the delivery of projected underwriting, claims and reinsurance performance results through effective account management (revenue & product)
    • Monitoring underwriting trends and provides robust report for analysis
    • Generate business opportunities by developing and managing key relationships for enhanced revenue performance.
    • Provide Underwriting, Claims and Reinsurance philosophies and disciplines across all business lines.
    • Lead and motivate teams with direct reporting relationship to the office.
    • Manage and execute high level process development as well as the quantity and quality of work performed by the technical department
    • Accountable for effective implementation and adherence to established obligations, contracts and other underwriting, claims and reinsurance commitments.
    • Annually design, implement and manage underwriting, claims and reinsurance authority, guidelines and approval thresholds.
    • Responsible for all technical regulatory compliance requirements as set by the National Insurance Commission
    • Provide technical assistance to Board and Board Committees as well as staff
    • Other duties as assigned by the MD/CEO and the board.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in any related discipline
    • Relevant Professional qualification e.g. Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (ACIIN)
    • Minimum of fifteen (15) years technical post-graduation experience, with at least seven (7) years as a senior management staff
    • Relevant Master’s Degree is an added advantage
    • Experience in the Insurance Industry is also an added advantage.
