Summary:

Responsible for operating the various machines in the workshop which includes the Lathe, Milling Machine, Boring Mill, Radial Drill & Band Saw to produce precision metal parts.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following;

• Operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and bending machines to produce metal parts.
• Carrying out basic inspection and preventive maintenance (PMs) of the machines and all their accessories.
• Reworking or machining new components to required tolerance, based on Drawings / Sketches or sample parts / mating parts.
• Carry out the necessary layout, precision marking prior to machining.
• Read and understand component drawings, sketches.
• Reviewing electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job.
• Positioning workpiece on the drill press, lathe, or milling machine.
• Monitoring and controlling feed rate and speed.
• Ensuring workpiece is properly lubricated and/or cooled.

Technical Skills

• Ability to read and interpret component drawings of equipment
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and instructions.
• Ability to use precision measurement tools such as micrometers and other related measurement tools.
• Ability to carry out all dimensional checks and assist in preparing accurate and timely reports.
• Basic slinger and rigging skills.

Qualification /Experience

• Minimum of Technical School Diploma
• Minimum of three (3) years’ cognate experience as Turner / Machinist
• Previous experience in mechanical or assembly work of rotating equipment is a plus.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following;

• Installing Air Conditioning System.
• Testing installed air conditioners to ensure functionality.
• Inspecting, maintaining and repairing vehicle air-conditioning units.

Qualification /Experience

• Minimum of Trade Test III Certificate or its equivalent
• Minimum of three (3) years’ cognate experience as Automobile AC Technician
