    Editor

    A reputable printing and publishing house in Abuja is seeking applications from experienced professionals for the position of an Editor to perform responsibilities of transcribing audios, editing, proof reading, research and creative content development.

     Position Summary:

    The qualified editor will produce high quality writing. He/she will plan, coordinate, write, review and edit content and provide exceptional, informative and engaging content.

    Primary Responsibilities and Deliverables:

    Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Research and/or write or edit products into reader-friendly products devoid of jargon and acronyms
    • Ensure clarity, consistency and readability of the text for the intended audience
    • Correct all grammar mistakes and remove all redundancies to make content clear
    • Produce reader-friendly products, appropriate for audience, devoid of jargon, acronyms and technicalities. These products to include, content for the web page and web articles, blogs, brochures, and reports among others.
    • Review and correct grammar and spelling mistakes
    • Review and revise formatting of documents, where required
    • Standardized formatting of the tables, where required
    • Review and revise table of contents / list of acronyms / tables, where required
    • Ensure standards of excellence in our productions.
    • Comply with media law and ethical guidelines

    Basic Qualifications and Required Skills:

    • First degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Literature, English
    • Eight years’ experience as a writer/editor of high quality international standard
    • Demonstrated ability to write/edit in a minimum time without losing the essentials of meaning and objectives of the materials
    • Previous experience of writing about Christian issues Computer literate
    • Experience working in a development / humanitarian environment desirable
    • Fluency in English; fluency in another Nigerian language an advantage.
    • Membership of a related professional body is an added advantage

    Additional Information:

    The editor will be a full time paid position of up to 40 hours per week within regular office hours Monday through Friday. However, it is recognized that this is a dedicated service and it may be necessary to spend time in attendance at various meetings outside of normal hours.

    Press Manager

    A reputable printing and publishing house in Abuja is seeking applications from experienced professionals for the position of a Press Manager/Production Supervisor to oversee the management and production processes of the press while ensuring profitability and an excellent service.

    Position Summary:

    The qualified press manager will oversee regular print responsibilities and over all aspect of printing process to assure excellence in our production processes. He/she shall be responsible for ensuring job sourcing, job evaluation/costing, raw material acquisitions, press/staff/operators management, machine maintenance, ensuring business growth and profitability.

    Primary Responsibilities and Deliverables:

    Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Ensure standards of excellence in our productions.
    • Pursue customer satisfaction in all business transactions.
    • Maintain proper procedures for transparency and record keeping.
    • Ensure proper maintenance of all equipments.
    • Avoid waste by all means.
    • Project the press for growing our clientele.
    • Keep staff/operators motivated for optimum performance.
    • Receiving/Downloading the artworks from the server.
    • Communicating with marketing team regarding the receipt of artwork, asking relevant queries and clarifications related to the artwork.
    • Processing of artworks using the various pre-press soft wares and sending a JPEG/PDF/GMG proof to customer through marketing.
    • Carrying out corrections if any required by the customer and making final error-free artwork for approval.
    • Doing color separation/ color correction/ shade matching in case of any reference is provided.
    • Making the final engraving file and loading the job to the engraver.
    • Supporting and coordinating with the engraving and proofing departments for the smooth execution of jobs.
    • Maintaining records related to the pre-press work and furnishing them in case the management needs it.
    • Follow SOP’s related to Pre-press work, Upkeep and calibration of equipment related to Pre-press
    • In addition to the above responsibilities, s/he must work to maintain a lifestyle of personal commitment, integrity and growth that is consistent with the Gospel. S/he should prioritize his/her role in his/her own family in obedience to Scripture and as an example to the body.

    Basic Qualifications and Required Skills:

    • Hands on experience in the following soft wares: Artpro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel draw, Freehand.
    • Knowledge of Mac OS and ability to work on Mac systems.
    • Candidates with HND qualifications, Diploma in Printing Technology/Graphic design/Computer software/Electronics.
    • 4-8 years’ experience in Pre-press dept. in a Printing/packaging/Graphic design company
    • Minimum of a OND/HND/BSc in a related field
    • Proficiency with Corel Draw, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or other visual design tools
    • Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software
    • Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects.
    • Display a high level of attention to detail while being able to work well under pressure and efficiently handle multiple tasks.
    • Excellent written and spoken English essential;
    • Experience managing teams, ability to work under own initiative or as a part of a team;
