    Senior Project Manager - Mobile / Digital

    Description:

    Reporting to: Programme Director (Abuja). Secondary report into Head of Project Mgt (UK).

    Position: Contract, full time (Subject to Contract). Start: Early October TBD (Subject to Contract)

    Based in: Abuja, Nigeria

    Travel: Local project travel to states within Nigeria

    Programme Overview

    The programme in Nigeria aims to improve access to essential health commodities for HIV/AIDS, malaria, family planning and maternal newborn and child health to transform supply chains across three states: Kebbi, Sokoto and Bauchi. Every1Mobile is the digital lead tasked to research, design and implement a range of digital learning and e-commerce solutions and strategies.

    Role Overview

    The Senior Project Manager role at E1M is responsible for ensuring the project delivery is achieved on time and to budget via oversight of the delivery teams and effective management of communication within E1M and the client.

    The role will focus on a specific programme, working across three states in northern Nigeria. The role will be based within our client’s project office in Abuja.

    Daily liaison with the client throughout the project will be critical, and the ability to manage important stakeholders in the relationship and their expectations is key. The role will also work with the client to report directly to the USAID Mission where required.

    Additionally, there will be frequent requirements to handle situations as they arise with the teams on the ground in the three northern states as well as managing all communications and prioritising which issues to handle and which to pass-on to the Project Director, together with a suggested solution.

    Overall, the role is key in ensuring we deliver real, measurable impact to our users and high quality services to our clients.

    For the duration of the project, you will work regularly with the Project Director and Technical team management in Abuja, Cape Town and Brighton, to monitor and guide progress of the project and ensure excellent standards are maintained.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage & drive all project management elements for the project, and supervise a project coordination team
    • Oversee the recruitment and ongoing management of project team
    • Build positive working relationships with project partners with the knowledge that you will be responsible for coordinating the integration of partner and E1M based deliverables where applicable
    • Interact with cross-functional teams to create and deliver E1M’s digital solutions for this project
    • Ensure the project is run according to process guidelines and that all project administration is completed
    • Responsible for project tracking costs to the project budget
    • Responsible for project planning, work plans, and managing issues as they arise
    • Responsible for making sure all reports are created in order to run the project & report to our client

    Qualification Requirements

    Essential

    Three or more years’ experience:

    • As a Project Manager working with digital and/or mobile products
    • Working to deliver USAID programs,  including under current compliance regulations
    • In International Development
    • Experience and demonstrable ability in delivering projects in Nigeria, or a similar context
    • Experience working with multiple technical and commercial stakeholders at a senior level
    • Experience working in a software development company using Agile development processes
    • Understanding of, and commitment to, socio-economic inclusion in developing markets
    • Good ability with MS Excel / Google Sheets
    • High level of numeracy, literacy & fluent in English

    Desirable:

    • Knowledge of the challenges and constraints of the mobile landscape in Nigeria, including handsets, connectivity and data.
    • Experience working with Programme Design, Product Manager, Content, UX Design and Development
    • Personal Capabilities
    • Excellent communicator
    • Comfortable working with diverse and disparate teams
    • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to strict deadlines
    • Ability to brainstorm, present and iterate creative ideas to the team and clients
    • Excellent writing and presentation skills
    • Prepared to travel to Kebbi, Sokoto, and Bauchi
