CONSULTING SERVICES

• Conduct a comprehensive agricultural study on food and cash crops in Borno State Nigeria, in order to provide clarity on the farming conditions and market situation as well as recommendations on possible interventions required to successfully set up a model farm and farmer cooperatives for the purpose of socio-economic development of beneficiaries.
• Sensitisation, advocacy and formation of farmer cooperatives for livelihoods development and economic empowerment through agricultural initiatives
• Development and delivery of tailored, cost-effective, end-to-end professional training of farming techniques/methodologies as well as governance and management of farmer cooperatives
• Creation and establishment of a model farm for and/or in collaboration with farmer cooperatives
• Procurement and provision of agricultural input services to farmer cooperatives. This includes the determination and provision of the appropriate balance of agricultural inputs to farmer cooperatives/ individual beneficiaries, in a timely manner (based on farming needs/seasons) and training on the proper and effective use of such inputs to ensure optimal levels of productivity and product quality while minimizing negative environmental impacts.
• Mentoring of farmer cooperatives to increase yields and livelihood income of farmer cooperatives during the progress of one farming cycle.
• Provision of marketing services to farmer cooperatives in order to improve access to good markets for their produce.
• Monitoring and evaluation of farmer cooperatives to measure and track progress

OPERATIONAL AND GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE

The “Consultant” will conduct a comprehensive agricultural study on food and cash crops for the purpose of socio-economic development of beneficiaries in Borno State and will therefore require the consultant to conduct primary research within Damboa Local Government Area to support their comprehensive study. Based on the findings of the comprehensive agricultural study, the “consultant” will be required to implement all subsequent consulting services within Damboa LGA.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The following documents MUST be provided in order to be eligible for this consulting assignment:

• Evidence of incorporation of the company by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) 

• Evidence of Registration with Relevant Professional Bodies 

• Evidence of Current Tax Clearance Certificate issued in 2016. 

• Evidence of VAT Registration 

• Company Audited Account for three years ending in 2017. 

• Evidence of Compliance with the Provision of the Pension Reform act 2004
