    Deputy Workshop Manager

    Salary: Negotiable

    Our Client, a leading multinational power company with footprints across Nigeria and West Africa, is looking to hire an exceptional profession to management workshop operations and after-sale service activities.

    Purpose of role
    This position is responsible for assisting & providing leadership and direction to the Service Centre
    Personnel to ensure that the company goals and objectives are met and accomplished while setting strategies to grow the Services business.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for creating a safe and friendly work environment and ensuring quality and safety companywide and ensuring environmental policies are being followed by all personnel
    • Supports Services Team by understanding processes and provide training on job flow processes and systems while coordinating manpower for the Repair Centre including shop personnel and support personnel
    • Manages tracking of project execution schedule and Identifies new equipment requirements to improve efficiency and evaluates shop assessments while ensuring that Workshop Technicians are completing appropriate paperwork
    • Responsible for the liaison with clients and Siemens and is directly involved in improving relationships with customers as needed while ensuring communication on technical requirements of repairs are of high standard (meeting both internal and external customer needs)

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Bachelor's degree minimum, preferably in a mechanical engineering discipline or related field with years of related industry experience required
    • Computer knowledge (Word, Excel, MS Office, Explorer, and Adobe Acrobat)
    • Familiarity and experience with reciprocating, rotating equipment and gas turbine repairs is an advantage
    • Strong interpersonal & communication skills with excellent customer liaison and relationship experience
    • Strong decision making skills with the ability to make difficult decisions; Familiar with invoicing practices with an understanding of margins and quoting AND Ability to empower and motivate staff
