Our client is a young but growing Engineering and project management Consultancy located in Lagos. Established in 2008, the company has a portfolio of high profile engineering, infrastructure and human capacity development projects across the country. With recent success of major project awards, the company now requires an ambitious and experienced professional with leadership qualities and management abilities to drive the company’s development to the next level.
Reporting to the board your main role is to manage the vision of the company and oversee its growth to become one of the leading consultancy companies. Your responsibilities will include defining the overall business strategy, managing the successful delivery of on-going projects and growing the revenue and profit. You will need to relocate and set up an office, provide leadership and guidance to contract staff, evolve the management process, and maintain standards and best practice. In all of these you will be expected to align resources to business objectives and ensure continued growth and profitability of the company. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate on-going experience of contract administration, project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting compliance with quality standards and safety management.
Qualifications and Experience:
An Engineering or similar technical subject graduate (with perhaps a post graduate degree or MBA), you must be entrepreneurial and a challenging self-starter with innate drive and resourcefulness. You must have proven general and project management experience ideally gained from an engineering concern. Commercially astute with drive and vision, you must have a clear strategic thinking with a sound understanding of finance, marketing and business development together with strong people leadership abilities.
In addition, you must have the ability to plan and organise a team effort, motivating, leading and boosting morale of the teams. Ability to effectively relate with clients at top management and board levels, effective time management and logical decision-making ability are very essential. You must be willing to travel extensively across all regions of the country as well as overseas as required.
The position will appeal particularly to those who have worked in a senior or middle management position within a large or medium sized organisation and are now looking to progress into senior management with significant upside potential. OR candidates with entrepreneurial background who may have successfully managed their own business.
