    Patient Concierge

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Patient Concierge functions independently to coordinate all necessary arrangements for patients seeking medical care with our Clinic. Liaise between referral sources, patients, hospitals and physicians for assistance with health care needs. The incumbent must assure that medical services are coordinated in a timely, accurate and courteous manner according to established guidelines. The Patient Concierge is responsible for solving any problems as they arise.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinates the full-cycle of medical services for international or VIP patients.
    • Charged with ensuring all needs of the patient and family are met throughout their visit. Effectively troubleshoots any problem independently and expeditiously.
    • Organizes transportation and lodging for patients transferring to or seeking services at our facilities including ambulance/air-ambulance services.
    • Negotiates discount pricing and bundled package pricing. Obtaining letter of agreement and payments from self pay patients and other payers within guidelines.
    • Contacts patient and their families on admission, at least three times weekly and on day of discharge to assure patient’s needs are coordinated appropriately. Uses discretion to determine when to involve department service ambassadors.
    • Serves as after-hour contact for one week on a rotating basis to provide patients assistance with the coordination of services outside of regular business hours.
    • Follows-up with patients and non-contracted payers to collect additional funds as necessary.
    • Gather all pertinent data from patient, referring physicians, payers.
    • Schedules appointments, registers patients in IDX, and verifies insurance coverage.
    • Maintains strong professional relationships with doctors, referral sources, staff, patients, and their families.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Excellent Customer Service Skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Bilingual English.
    • Must be able to function independently and make independent decisions consistent with departmental guidelines/objectives.
    • Must be able to maintain strong professional relationships with doctors, referral sources, staff, patients, and their families.

    Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):
    Bachelor’s degree in a medical related field.

    Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):
    One year (1) of related experience.
