Home and You limited is currently recruiting for the post of Design Architect

The Design Architect researches, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients by performing the following duties.

• Studying, researching and planning various styles of furniture design
• Consult with production and installation and draw up a project time line
• Periodically update company products by reviewing designs by including innovative and new materials
• Selecting suitable materials, which might include wood, metal, plastic and textile
• Develop Catalogue
• Prepare various design templates
• Discussing designs with clients for custom ordering or with manufacturers
• Preparing detailed final designs
• Generating sample designs using CAD, card models, sketches or hard prototypes
• Liaising with craftsmen or production department staff, such as production managers and manufacturers
• Evaluating prices and mark up percentages depending on project need
• Evaluating issues such as pricing and fixing costs, fashion, purchasing, safety, materials and manufacturing methods and techniques
• Using various tools to complete projects from raw materials to finished furniture item
• Checking furniture designs to make sure they complement local and global furniture market trends
• Consults with client to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, colour, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
