    Project Administrator (2-year renewable)

    Duties

    Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:

    • Assist the Project Manager with day to day project administration.
    • Monitor timely completion and reporting of the project’s product delivery and annual milestones.
    • Follow up with IITA scientists, Project Administration Office, and project partners to ensure high quality reports are submitted in timely manner.
    • Assist in implementation of evaluations/ impact assessments.
    • Assist with monitoring the project burn rate.
    • Reviewing and crosschecking of partner agreements and similar documents.
    • Responsible for stock keeping of project assets.
    • Such other duties, properly assigned, as may be occasioned by the exigencies of the service.

    Educational, Experience and Other Requirements

    • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management or other related fields.
    • Minimum of Four (4) years’ experience in Project Administration.

    The ideal candidate must possess:

    • Good understanding of budgeting and financial management procedures.
    • Excellent computer skills with good grasp of spreadsheets, word processing and other MS office applications, and ability to learn new applications quickly.
    • Excellent English reporting, writing and oral communication skills.
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point).
    • Strong ability to co-ordinate, prioritise and organize workload; take initiative and work under pressure.
    • Good team spirit and also participate as a team member in accomplishment of duties.

    Administrative Assistant

    Duties

    Successful candidate will among other things perform the following:

    • Assist in day to day project administration.
    • Handling correspondence, photocopying, binding and other paperwork.
    • Assist in the preparation of Travel Authorization and Cash Advance/ Expense Claims for traveling arrangement of project staff.
    • Assist in the preparation of requests for internal purchases and Purchases Order of office stationery and machineries.
    • Assist in the following up and handling purchases/ oracle requests.
    • Taking minutes at project meetings.
    • Such other duties, properly assigned, as may be occasioned by the exigencies of the service.

    Educational, Experience and Other Requirements

    • HND/BSc in Business Administration and other related fields.
    • Minimum of 2 (two) years’ experience in Project Administration.

    The ideal candidate must possess:

    Research Associate

    Duties

    • Establish and maintain field experiments.
    • Supervise field and laboratory staff.
    • Calibrate sprayers for herbicide application.
    • Be conversant with herbicide calculation and application.
    • Undertake data management and analysis; and contribute to reporting of research outputs.
    • Support project staff to meet reporting and monitoring and evaluation requirements of the project activities.
    • Facilitate all aspects of the project’s operations and management of logistics.
    • Support the training of students and visiting trainees.
    • Carry out any other task assigned by the Supervisor.

    Educational, Experience and Other Requirements

    M.Sc. in Plant Science/Agronomy/ Crop Science or a related discipline

    The ideal candidate must

    • Possess excellent interpersonal skills
    • Have good communication skills
    • Possess good computer skills and be able to use statistical analysis systems such as SAS, Genstat and Excel.
    • Possess a valid Driver’s License
    • Experience with and proven skills in the accurate implementation and conduct of field trials, collection and analysis of weed and agronomic data as well as socio-economic data in field trials.
