Food Technologist at Ukhozi Personnel

Responsibilities include:

• Product development from idea generation to prototyping
• Market products profiling and review of various consumers packaged goods, CPG.
• Market products research, and competitive product reviews
• Sensory tests of products and consumers' sensory insights
• Selection and application of flavours and ingredients: CSDs, non-carbonated drinks, fruit drinks, milk drinks, yoghurt drinks, soya milk, malt drinks, malt and milk drink, energy drinks and nutritional drinks
• Costing and projects review
• Development of new beverage application (Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic) recipes
• Development of new concepts for customers
• Provide technical support to customers (Locally & within Sub Saharan Africa Region) directly or through project briefs, including the recommendation of flavours and technical information on application issues
• Support and liaise with customers on new food ingredient requirements for market launches Attend meetings with customers (Locally & within Sub Saharan Africa Region)
• Present and discuss samples as requested by customer
• Summarise meetings in visit reports
• Assist customer on technical application issues
• Support and adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental policy
• Keep up to date and inform company on developments in application equipment and machinery.
• Ensures that all ingredients kept in the lab are of the right quality and age and adhere to the company’s global palette requirements
• Ensure priorities are in line with the company’s customer segmentation strategy for business growth
• Ensure projects are carried out in accordance with customer requirements in terms of deadlines and product specifications
• Maintain adequate stock of all ingredients and related materials
• Manufacture finished products according to formulae, advising on modifying ingredients to conform to specifications Set up, monitor and reports on shelf-life tests on final products
• Maintain the lab in a clean, hygienic and safe condition and report any unsafe conditions to the relevant authority and ensures that action is taken
• Ensure that all lab equipment lab equipment is maintained in good working order and that all breakdowns are reported and attended to timeously Ensure that adhere to the company’s systems (FPR,Atlas &SAP)

Minimum Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Food Science Technology or related is essential.
• MSc. Degree in Microbiology or related is advantageous
• Minimum 5 years working experience in Food Technology (Non-Negotiable)
• Knowledge of Food Safety

Remuneration

• Basic Salary Range: ₦1 079 442 – ₦1 233 648 (*highly negotiable depending on experience gained)
