Purpose
The volunteer will be trained in the areas of the foundation’s objective and assigned to work in the field as the need arise.

Responsibilities

• Enumeration of beneficiaries
• Report writing and documentation
• Assist program staff in the field
• Other duties related project

Qualifications

• At least a Diploma; additional qualification an advantage.
• One to two (2) years of relevant experience.
• Good inter-personal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Good report writing and communication skills
• Ability to build rapport with participants and team members
• Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Email applications.
• High level of fluency in English and Hausa (speaking, reading, writing) and fluency of Kanuri language is an added advantage.

Maigoje Foundation (MgF) is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the following positions in a Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Livestock Restocking Project (subject to funding) to be based in Gujba, Gulani, Geidam, Tarmuwa and Nguru LGAs of Yobe States.

Duration: 3 Months

Qualifications:
Minimum DVM degree required, strongly preferred Master's degree or equivalent in veterinary services.

Experience:

• At least 2-3 years experience in clinical practice, livestock management and demonstrable experience in conducting assessments, livelihood intervention and mapping.
• The candidates most have strong analytical skill, reporting and writing abilities
• Excellent organizational skills with diligent record-keeping
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English and Hausa), fluency in Kanuri Language is an added advantage.
• Ability to multi-task and to work to demanding timelines, whilst remaining focused on strategic goals
• Demonstrated competence in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Able to be based full-time in LGA of assignment

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will

• Supervise the LGA coordinator and Field Volunteers
• Provide clinical services to large and small animals in the LGA of assignment
• Support the Vendors, Enumerators and FAO team towards the smooth implementation of the project
• Train beneficiaries on livestock handling and management
• Provide activity report to the foundation.
