Product Development Manager at AMO Group

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Fulfil product management responsibilities in the areas of animal protein; including the proactive definition and ongoing management of all associated product requirements.
• Lead and direct the development and introduction of new products, as well as the upgrade and maintenance of existing products.
• Effectively works with other departments to establish a design, technology, product development, and vendor strategy.
•  Manages project budgets and prepares financial analysis reports for top management.
• Develop and utilize innovative product development and testing methodologies, with a focus on reducing product development lead times.
• Establish and manage product pricing to achieve targeted margin objectives.
• Gather and evaluate field performance data on products, and support the development of effective sales tools.
• Ensures that labelling and marketing/promotional literature match product specifications
• Researches and monitors existing client base and industry developments and identifies potential new product opportunities
• Approve all pre-production samples
• Take on additional responsibilities as may be assigned by the line manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• At least a first degree in related field.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in the food industry (Animal protein)
• Strong technical background, with a track record in effective product and project management.
• Working knowledge in rapid prototyping, development, and testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools.
• Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Creative and innovative mentality, with strong organizational skills and initiative.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically.
