    Senior Drilling Supervisor

    Responsibilities:
    • Achieve goal zero on his rig by enforcing the applicable HSE rules and procedures,intervening in case of breech,working the rig HSE case,ensuring timely reporting and investigation of incidents,reinforcing Hazard identification and prevention,building staff HSE awareness.
    • Maintain well control at all times by ensuring personnel is conversant with kick detection techniques and well closing in procedures and BOP equipment is certified maintained and tested.
    • Delivering wells on time and to the required quality standards.
    • Track daily costs and take necessary action to deliver well within budget.
    • Translate drilling program into detailed instructions for contractors and service companies.
    • Coordinate intervention of various contractors and service companies intervening on the rig site.
    • Compiling daily drilling report and other required specific reports.
    • Identifying ideas to improve performance and communicating them to the SDE for inclusion in drilling program.
    • Timely ordering of services and equipment and QA/QC when delivered on site.

    Requirements:
    • A professional engineer with a university degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
    • A minimum of 10 years experience in well delivery function, commercial and contracting and technology activities
    • Valid IWCF certification
    • Good supervisory skills, with sound knowledge of drilling practices and well control principles and techniques.
    • Good analytical, communication and writing skills, with PC fluency and familiarity with drilling engineering software.
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Excellent proficiency in English language, both in speech and in writing.

    Well Engineer (Cementing)

    Responsibilities:
    • Ensure suitable,non-damaging and cost effective drilling/completion fluids are designed and programmed.
    • Evaluate proposals from vendors for introduction of new systems and products into our operations.
    • Follow up/monitor to highlight and technically evaluate problem areas for improvement in cost effectiveness of drilling fluids.
    • Resolution of problems beyond the immediate capacity of the mud consultants involved in the day to day monitoring of drilling fluids performance.
    • Introduce new fluids technologies in for extended reach horizontal,multi-lateral and HPHT wells.
    • Review and update of SPDC drilling/completion fluids and cementing standards,whenever necessary.
    • Participate actively in the preparation and award of drilling/completion fluids contracts.
    • Work ahead of HSE legislation to develop mud systems that comply with existing and pending legislation.
    • Continually explore effective and economic ways of increasing use of local products in our contracts.
    • Work with Environmental and Waste Management Departments to ensure that current practices meet regulatory requirements.

    Requirements:
    • University degree in Engineering or the Sciences.
    • Minimum of 7 years experience in the oil industry especially in Well Engineering.
    • Strong knowledge in well planning, well design and programming, drilling/completion fluids chemistry, borehole stability and failure mechanisms.

    Well Engineering (Operations)

    Responsibilities:
    • Safety in design and programming - in particular,process safety.
    • Ensure well design is robust to handle relevant well control incidents.
    • Finalise detailed well design including final well trajectory,accurate casing setting depths,drilling fluids program and cementing program to ensure wells objectives will be met.
    • Carry out torque,drag and hydraulics calculations,design drilling assemblies to verify that the well is within rig capabilities and optimise drilling performance.
    • Compiles detailed drilling program to achieve business performance objectives (Cost,results and schedule).
    • Comply with Policies,standards and procedures,use approved IT tools in developing final design and drilling program.
    • Identify and implement ideas to improve performance by repeating best composite well times,reducing NPT,using of new techniques/technologies and modifying procedures.
    • Estimates AFE well cost
    • Orders equipment and services using SAP.
    • Monitor time and cost performance.
    • Compile end of well report.

    Requirements:
    • A professional engineer with a university degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
    • A minimum of 7 years experience in well delivery function, commercial and contracting and technology activities.
    • Valid IWCF certification.
    • Possess highly developed technical skills enhanced by theoretical and practical knowledge of the well delivery process.
    • Good analytical, communication and writing skills, with PC fluency and familiarity with drilling engineering software.

    Principal Well Engineer Design

    Responsibilities:
    1. Develop and manage technical and operational skills, resource and capability of highest standards to create significant value in technical inputs into SPDC onshore and offshore oil and gas development concepts and programmes, through structured coaching, mentoring, placements, shared learning and projects execution.

    2. Develop and manage the standards,policies and guidelines for well concepts and types, inventory of historical well data, best practices, new and emerging technologies (cluster drilling, high rate wells, multilaterals, expandable tubulars, etc.) which go into field reviews (FRs), volume to value (V2V) opportunity framing, field development plans and economics (FDPs),value assurance reviews (VARs) to ensure overall profitability and reduction in  the unit development cost of the SPDC oil and gas portfolio.

    3. Develop and manage the technical risks in well design through out-of-the-box thinking, new ideas, evaluation of well concepts and models, investigation of opportunities for local and regional integration of work-scope (farm-ins, farm outs), tie-ins (to nearby facilities), leap frogging of rig equipment, etc., to improve the project economics.

    4. Develop specifications and standards for HSE critical elements and technical uncertainties inherent in well types,well concepts and technologies recommended for the oil and gas development under consideration,with a view to identify upfront the "Right" well and optimum development option.

    5. Create and implement feedback processes that will ensure well engineering considerations and design criteria selected during the project planning phase are followed-through to execution to mitigate value erosion of the identified cost savings.

    6. Manage the overall QA/QC of the Conceptual Well Engineers' works and quality of the interface between the Asset Teams, Exploration, External studies and the Wells organisation.

    7. Develop high level strategies for the effective implementation of the technical limit concept for wells in the work area.

    8. Champion performance reviews, learning events, workshops and global networking in this aspects well delivery.

    9. Provide leadership support required for implementing performance enhancement initiative such as RtL to reduce unit development cost and improve wells productivity.

    10. Foster the use of the services of the wells global networking in the application of relevant new technology and benchmarking to ensure continuous improvement in well delivery performance and overall cost optimisation.

    11. Create and enforce work culture within the team to ensure team motivation to deliver high performance and achieve overall company objective.

    12. Participate as a member of the Wells Management team with joint responsibility for the development of the overall long term drilling strategies, policies, technical, commercial and resource acquisition.

    Requirements:
    1. A  B. Sc degree in engineering or physical science, with a minimum of 15 years oil and gas drilling and completion experience, 10 of which must be in well technology, planning, design and construction activities. Experience in subsurface engineering is mandatory.

    2. Leadership: Excellent influencing skills and ability to forge strong relationships at various levels, proven ability to lead and inspire cross-discipline groups, commitment to technical leadership and ability to lead skills pool staff working under different asset teams.

    3. Technical Skills: Experienced Well Engineer, global exposure an advantage, deep understanding of the workflow linking the relevant disciplines to generate the "Right" wells and optimum field development plan.

    4. Commercial skills: Strong management skills, proponent of Strategic Cost Leadership, deep understanding of commercial implications of emerging ways of working, techniques and technologies in the Discipline of the applicant.

    5. People Development Skills: Respected technical mentor with excellent coaching abilities, and with a proven track record of commitment to people development.     Senior Completions Engineer

    Responsibilities:
     1. Demonstrate a high commitment to HSE thereby actively promoting and contributing to Shell 's Safety Initaivies, DROPS and use of Safety Tools (STOP,TRIC,PTW).
    2. Ensure that Completion activities are carried out in accordance with the company HSEMS and HSE policies and standards.
    3. Manage and maintain well integrity for the asset by planning and executing routine well integrity maintenance in line with current approved group standards and procedures.
    4. Ensures that all resultant corrective maintenance activities are carried out in line company standards/procedures.
    5. Provides technical advice on process safety contingencies in completion operations.
    6. Manage CWI workshop, including testing, maintenance and storage of Company equipment and materials.
    7. Manage the interface with Asset Development, Assets and Engineering Teams.
    8. Coordinate service contractors to ensure that high quality services are provided in accordance with their respective contracts.
    9. Liaises with the Community Relation Officers to work out strategies with the host communities to minimise disruption of activities in Well completion operations.
    10. Manage the process of obtaining DPR approvals and other governmental permitting requirements.
    11. Manage the progress of work on well completion & relates critical issues to the Team Leader for resolution and directives.
    12. Manage the staff assigned to his team including the Completion Engineer and Completion Supervisors.
    13. Direct the organisation of logistics/expedites materials and equipment to his units.
    14. Manage the preparation of economic analysis for decision making in a problem well.
    15. Manages all contractor services to ensure that high quality services are provided in accordance with their respective contracts.
    16. Drives the full implementation of the rDTL (revitalized Delivering the Limit) process during well completion program execution, thus optimising the operational and technical performance of Well Intervention and contractors under his custody.
    17. Promotes rDTL (revitalized Delivering the Limit) working culture among the well site team to continuously improve historical performance year on year.
    18. Visits Well Intervention companies and contractors to discuss and source equipment and services related to his job.
    19. Promotes inclusion of relevant new technology procedures and equipment in well completion activities.
    20. Provides feedback in the R&D trial and improvement loop of new technology.
    21. Ensure that all well site activities are carried out in conformity with SPDC’s Health, Safety, Environment & Security Policies and in accordance with Quality management principles.
    22. Monitor the HSE, operational, commercial & technical performance of the units and contractors under his control, measure the quality of the products and services and formulate routes for improvement.
    23. Manage compliance with relevant systems & procedures for executing Completion activities

    Requirements:
    1. A professional engineer in possession of a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
    2. A minimum of 10 years experience in Well Intervention Engineering with 2 years as a Field Supervisor.
    3. Good supervisory skills, with sound knowledge of well control techniques and well intervention operations practices
    4. Good analytical, communication and writing skills, with PC fluency and familiarity with well intervention engineering software.
    5. Proficient in English language, both in speech and in writing.
    6. In possession of valid WIPC certificate.
