    Social Media Community Manager

    Reports to: Head of Production Services Grade Level: LSG-02B Direct reports: N/A

    Job Summary:
    Responsible for all social media activities, communications and marketing required to raise awareness, drive sales and attendance, and deliver the objectives of each project.
    Responsible for the company and its clients’ projects / brands on social media and advocating the company and its clients on social networks.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
    As the Social Media Manager: responsible for the company and its clients’ projects / brands on social media, involving the creation of content, responding to comments, questions, requests and forums, monitoring responses and re-use, uploading new information and visuals, and much more as the projects / brands; and dealing with people who have a relationship with, or have heard of, the projects / brands.

    As the Community Manager: responsible for advocating and boosting awareness of the company and its clients’ projects / brands brand on social network; creating your own social persona and actively going out within the online community to connect with potential customers and advocate the company and its clients’ projects / brands; typically deal with those who haven’t heard of the company or its clients’ projects / brands.

    • Developing a compelling social media strategy and daily action calendar consisting of high quality social media content and story lines (Content Marketing) for use in establishing an impactful social media presence for each project.
    • Researching the Internet and relevant blogs, forums and other social media for immediate opportunities, and, working with team members to ensure the latest news and visuals are incorporated into the social media strategy for each project.
    • Activating each social media plan, including but not limited to, frequently updating the social media accounts and blogs, and other regular activities that result in the strategic distribution of the company and its clients’ projects / brands’ content across a variety of different social networks.
    • Ensuring all social media activities deliver engagement and align with other Digital Marketing, PR and the overall Marketing strategy.
    • Managing the social media assets for the company and each clients’ projects.
    • Recommending social media advertising; online advertising and programmatic; digital promotions and search engine marketing; app development; gamification of content; search engine optimisation and activity, email marketing; and other complimentary Digital Marketing, as necessary.
    • Monitoring, controlling, evaluating and reporting of the progress and results of social media campaigns as required (weekly or daily basis according to project).
    • Providing comprehensive reports and intelligence on the social media status of each project.
    • As a guide, time should be spent as follows: 30% responding to and helping customers, 30% creating and curating social content, 20% researching, strategising and planning, 10% analytics, 10% collaborating with team members
    • Other duties as required to provide clients with a world class service at all times.

    Qualifications, Competency & Skills Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification preferably in Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, Marketing, PR or Mass Communications.
    • Digitally savvy with extensive experience of and a substantial social media footprint (i.e. successful accounts on FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Vimeo, YouTube, Blogger, Reddit, Google+ etc.).
    • Experienced Internet, email and Google applications user.
    • Experienced Microsoft Office user, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Experienced writer, who is able to turn out quality copy quickly and on time.
    • Sound knowledge of the creative, marketing, experiential and entertainment industries in Nigeria.
    • Candidate Abilities & Personality Profile:
    • A digital native who is in love with social media and its power and reach.
    • An organised and assertive individual who is proactive, creative, and resourceful.
    • An outstanding team player and self-starter, able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
    • Great at staying calm and diplomatic under intense pressure.
    • Able to manage own time and prioritise work to ensure deadlines are met and targets achieved, and take personal responsibility for own work and actions.
    • Able to work within a secure and confidential environment, maintain confidentiality and demonstrate tact and diplomacy at all times.
    • Clear verbal communicator with excellent telephone manner.
    • Able to work accurately with excellent attention to detail at all times.
    • Able to develop excellent working relationships both internally and externally.
    • Excellent organisation skills.
    • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and a professional manner.
    • Able to cope well when under pressure from competing priorities, unpredictable requests and interruptions.

    Scale and impact of social media presence in achieving the company and its clients’ goals.

    Location:
    Lagos, Nigeria, plus other locations as required.
    Hours:
    08.30am to 17.00pm plus additional hours as required.
