    Litigation Officer

     

    Job Description

    • There is an exciting position of a litigation officer with my client in the banking industry.

    Job Summary

    • Effective and proactive litigation portfolio management
    • Cost consciousness and savings in all negotiations for out of court settlement or Solicitors professional fees
    • Making recommendations to Management for matters to be resolved amicably, where applicable.
    • Deliver service synonymous with excellence and superior performance
    • Ensure efficient and effective synergy with Departments/Branches for improved turnaround time

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Ensure cost consciousness and savings in all negotiations for settlement out of court or payment of Solicitors fees
    • Make recommendations to Management for matters to be resolved amicably, where applicable
    • Effective and proactive litigation portfolio management
    • Training of Branches on litigation process and how to keep documentary evidence (Ongoing process)
    • Engage the services of Solicitors who have clout and a good knowledge of the law and relationship with the Judiciary
    • Attending settlement meetings and court proceedings
    • Collation of monthly returns on pending litigation

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Analyze cases and guide external Solicitors to ensure water-tight defense and prosecution for the Bank
    • Prepare case management strategies on case by case basis
    • Schedule quarterly brainstorming meetings with external solicitors for adoption of best strategies.
    • Making recommendations to Management for matters to be resolved amicably, where applicable.
    • Build internal and external communication network between external Solicitors, Management and staff
    • Ensuring effective communication channel between the external solicitors and the Bank.
    • Attending Court proceedings.
    • Employing alternative dispute resolution measures such as the Multi Door Court House.
    • Payment of negotiated professional fees as at when due
    • Participation in committee meetings as assigned

    Job Reqirements

    • Minimum education level - LL.B, B.L from a recognized University
    • Experience - 4 years’ Experience
    • Candidate must have experience in the banking sector or commercial law firm.

    Key Competency Reqirements
    Knowledge:

    • Accomplished lawyer with a strong background in corporate legal practice and proven ability to negotiate complex transaction and lead successful teams.
    • An analytical thinker, effective communicator together with a capacity to interpret and assimilate large volumes of complex information and construct cogent arguments.

    Skills/Competencies:

    • Keen, conscientious, with a friendly disposition
    • An efficient and reliable person, can work alone or as part of a team.
    • Can work well under extreme pressure and remain calm with the ability to prioritize.
    • A proactive leader with ability to liaise with colleagues at all levels providing support and motivation.
    • Personable and adaptable individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

    Office Assistant (Male)

    Job Summary

    • To work as a team member in the Commercial banking department within the level of Assistant Banking officer to Senior Banking Officer

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Identify prospect and convert in line with Bank’s appetite.
    • Effectively use CRM for managing a healthy pipeline and also a record of client calls and discussions.
    • Actively drive sales of full range of Commercial Client products and capture entire client value chain
    • Manage and protect the relationship between the company and its most important clients.
    • Build relationships with different members of the client team who make or influence purchasing decisions, including senior executives, purchasing managers, technical managers and finance directors.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management or Marketing.
    • Must have proven record of relationship management skills
    • Must have extensive experience managing clients with annual turnover of 1billion minimum.
    • Must be currently working with a reputable bank in a similar role.
    • Good planning and analytical skills.
    • Good coordination and communication skills.
