Job Description

• Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
• Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
• Coordinate all projects/design engineers and CAD technicians from planning stage through final construction.
• Conduct audit, interviews and inspections of materials.
• Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
• Assess potential risks, materials and costs
• Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies
• Review engineering design, specifications and standards.
• Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
• Handle over the resulting structures and services for use
• Monitor progress and compile reports in project status
• Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials
• Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required
• Review job proposals including QC/QA Plans.
• Ensure enforcement and close-out of observation/issues on project under supervision within stipulated time

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or Construction Management  
• Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Structural/Civil Engineering with advanced technical knowledge and training obtained from a reputable construction firm  
• Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD,Civil 3D or similar
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc
• Project management and supervision skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A registered Structural Engineer (SE) and Professional Engineer (PE) license will be an added advantage.
• Membership of a recognized professional engineering body including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and/or Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
• MA in Structural/Civil Engineering a plus.
