    Senior Manager, Financial Management & Business

    Division: Finance

    Core Purpose of the Job

    • To provide overall management and guidance for the provision of financial support for Network Group and Regional operations for continuous and successful Network rollout.

    Job Summary

    • Support the Shareholder return strategy by developing and implementing the Division’s Processes that are aligned to achieving all elements on the business score card.
    • Participate in the review of Business Processes (headcount, process optimisation etc), to drive efficiency gains.
    • Participate in Contract negotiations to reduce cost and drive MTNN Value Creation Philosophy
    • Partner with MTNN’s Ecosystem Partners to deliver business value.
    • Serve the Division’s internal customers and provide solutions to improve the customer experience.
    • Drive planned strategy for the successful delivery of transformation initiatives focusing on Customer centricity.
    • Drive an increase in MTNN’s Net Promoter Score.
    • Develop short and long term business strategy for the Network Financial Control Division, administering all financial/business planning and resource development supports for Network Group (NWG).
    • Develop and implement cost optimization strategy for NWG, translating business goals and objectives into NWG budgets.
    • Design and develop Asset Management and Information System for effective tracking and reporting of network assets.
    • Develop and control Network Group budget design, ensuring business plan processes are in line with organizational requirements.
    • Oversee NWG finances using a mix of systems, and best practice operational policies, processes and procedures.
    • Develop and implement tools, systems and processes for effective financial control.
    • Provide leadership and manage the financial control team, participating in all NWG high level decision making management meetings.
    • Act as interface with Finance Department, the board and stakeholders, external/internal parties, on submission and release of budgets and NWG financial activities.
    • Develop and provide guidelines to all the departments in NWG to effectively manage and control expenditure.
    • Provide input in the negotiation of all commercial requirements for NWG suppliers’ agreement.
    • Facilitate Network group Business planning and strategy development
    • Drive and coordinate cost savings ideas/ initiatives and projects for Network Group
    • Prepare and present NWG financial management activities and reports, providing effective management information for decision making.
    • Design and Implement, selected strategic approach towards managing MTNN network assets and ensure Coordination of specifications for appropriate systems and interfaces in the prescribed Asset Management tools
    • Develop, implement and  be the custodian of the Asset Management strategy
    • Network and build solid relationships with internal units and relevant third parties (e.g. strategic investors, technical and finance partners, business consultants etc.) and develop a close working relationship with relevant information sources to provide an integrated service.
    • Partner with MTNN’s Ecosystem Partners to deliver business value
    • Strategic Partnerships with MTNN leadership team to drive awareness on expected behaviours and impact on non-compliance on bottom line results and company image/reputation.
    • Review the performance of individual team members and complete appraisals in accordance with the employee performance appraisal procedures and time schedules.
    • Coach and train NWG Financial Control to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of set targets/requirements and regularly review their training needs.

    Job Conditions:

    Education

    • First degree in Accounting/Economics or related area of study
    • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
    • MBA is desirable

    Experience:

    • 10 years’ work experience including:
      • Manager track record of 3 years or more; with at least 3 years in relevant sector/ industry
      • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies advantageous
      • Experience in implementation of financial systems within a large network roll out environment
      • Experience in developing and enhancing operational systems to meet existing and future business requirements

    Accountant, Financial Planning - Financial Analysis

    Division: Finance

    Core Purpose of the Job

    • To assist and support the Management Information Reporting function within the Business Analysis group to ensure timely submission of accurate management reports to the Executive Committee.

    Job Summary

    • Assist in analysing the company’s financial position, recommending various analytical techniques and implication of financial and non-financial information in the management reports.
    • Provide input and recommendations into business evaluation of new acquisitions and the financial analysis of existing business, projects etc.
    • Recommend improvements to the existing Management Information Reporting (MIR) framework in MTN Finance.
    • Facilitate prompt resolution of all EDW and SAS analytics issues as they relate to the MIR responsibilities.
    • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of initiatives/projects emanating from the Group and local management such as Activity Based Costing (ABC) methodology, CAPEX governance methodology as well as Subscriber Acquisition Cost (SAC) initiative.
    • Perform a variety of data analysis and reconciliation activities for management reporting purposes and assist in reporting operational efficiencies generated across the entire business.
    • Develop and define information requirements for new lines of business, assisting in the implementation of a robust reporting framework for new lines of business (e.g. fixed products and other acquisition), analysing and preparing reports on new business streams.
    • Utilise all available source systems such as Industrial Financial Systems (IFS), Oracle Financial Analyser (OFA), Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to generate accurate and timely management information reports on a monthly basis in line with local and international standards.
    • Prepare and distribute industry benchmark and competitive intelligence reports to enhance decision making.
    • Ensure value is created from Customer engagement & Operations
    • Liaise with the EDW team to facilitate prompt reporting specifications and perform analytics on raw data from EDW and other sources to facilitate decision making
    • Foster active collaboration and relationships with employees across all levels and divisions in line with MTN’s Vital Behaviours and values.

    Education

    • A first degree/ HND in any discipline, but a finance and management related degree is desirable.
    • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA).

    Experience:

    • Experience working in a medium  organization
    • Experience in Finance environment with at least 1-year financial reporting experience.
    • Experience in Data mining and analysis
    • Experience in Enterprise Financial Systems
    • Experience in telecommunications industry will be an added advantage

    Senior Manager, Business Planning & Analysis

    • To manage, coordinate and control Business Analysis functions within the Finance department.
    • This involves the setup, implementation and management of a Management Information Reporting function and MTN Group strategic information management. Project and product investment appraisals, post implementation review and profitability analysis.

    • Facilitate the entire budget and business plan process for MTNN, ensuring adherence to standard format and guidelines.
    • Implement Management Information Reporting (MIR) framework and oversee the review and testing of MTN Nigeria revenue models and assumptions for inclusion in the Business Plan.
    • Interface with stakeholders to identify general information requirements, ensuring prompt delivery of MIR at different levels.
    • Develop and perform special projects financial modeling and analysis and make appropriate recommendations.
    • Evaluate and perform financial assessments of new products, revenue shared agreements and tariffs, assessing the financial impact of all board papers and submission.
    • Integrate business reporting requirements into EDW/IS environment and lead Finance team on financial systems upgrade, migrations and other ad-hoc financial evaluation of initiatives.
    • Network and build solid relationships with internal units and relevant third parties (e.g. strategic investors, technical and finance partners, business consultants etc.) and develop a close working relationship with relevant information sources to provide an integrated service.

    • Manager track record of 3 years or more; with at least 3 years in relevant sector/ industry
    • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies advantageous
    • 4 years’ experience in Information Reporting, Business Analysis, Financial Modeling and Planning
    • Experience in a management-reporting environment and/or audit in a multinational organisation
